Mummy's was so delicious!! I had the meatballs in the sauce and it was the best thing I could have eaten after a long walk around Portland. 10/10 would eat there again!

Great atmosphere. Great location. Kind service. Good, unique menu. Unique drink menu. Medium portions. To go boxes. Great value. Inexpensive. Do recommend. Will return. I stopped by for lunch. They immediately greeted and sat me. They just opened and I was the only one there. Everything was made to order. Everything was correct and delicious. I ordered things I'd never heard of before, and way too many for one person. It's a basement unit with a calming, Egyptian vibe. Bathrooms need work, but it's not a problem. Thanks for a great meal.
The BEST customer service!! My husband and I stopped in for a quick bite before a play at the Keller Auditorium. We had drinks and appetizers, but had to leave before the main course arrived, to ensure we made it to the show on time. We paid, thinking that was it, but the owner was kind enough to keep our food until after the show was over, which was 15 mins after they closed. He not only boxed up our main course, but also included our salad and appetizers we didn't finish. Amazing service!
Loved this little basement spot. Great food, non-alcoholic beverages, and espresso. A guest told us that the proprietor also created the etched glass artwork and built the tables. Well worth the stop.
Never had egyptian food before. Went for lunch, spent probably $11-15 for lunch and appetizer and it ended up being more than I could handle. The environment was fantastic, mostly because it was quiet and I dig that. There was a sexy looking full service bar that I didn't engage. Bringing some friends from the office next time.
This place was pretty good. Love the owner- super nice. Decor makes you feel like your in a Egyptian museum... I thought the food was tasty. Would definitely come back for the Egyptian themed cocktails!
Egyptian food for the American pallet, fairly priced. Real nice atmosphere and art by the owner/bartender. Full service bar. Go for the fun family friendly bellydance shows every Friday and especially Saturday nights, around 8 pm., no extra charge, and no tips for the dancers at all! Open dance at the end of the performers show, feel free to join in!
From 3 to 15 dancers, solo's and troupe, dancing to a wide variety of music, each with their own style, not 'cookie cutter', Clapping and Zaggreeting encouraged!
The mummies like one of Portland's Underground restaurants. Quite literally. You could walk right past this place and not even know there was a restaurant right underneath your feet. The decor is Egyptian decadence. They have a really good bar and their food is really good. The staff will engage you right away and make sure that you feel welcome and appreciated. If you're ever in Portland check it out but you may have to ask where it is.
Service was great. There was an old man who served us. He was very nice. It's a different kind of food so may not be for all but definitely worth a try.
Mummy's hasn't changed in decades, and the same fellow appears to have run the place forever; when I asked him tonight, he replied that he'd been working here 39 years! It's a comfortable downstairs Egyptian lair, with fine shish kabob, chicken kabab, baba ghanush and other favorites. Great place to drop in before a downtown show, close to the Schnitz, somehow never overfull.
