Had pastor and chicken tacos. Both were amazing! Staff was super friendly too. Can’t wait to try more of their food.

Best authentic Hispanic food around. I’ve been a huge fan of the amazing taste since his food truck in Gresham. It’s nice to see his business and his family grow. They are a little further from my house now but so worth the drive.

Hands down incredible food. We both finished our plates and I cannot wait to come back and try their Pollo which my partner really enjoyed. My Carnitas Tostada was loaded and a good portion for one person. Service was quick and friendly. 10/10 I'd give more stars if I could

Stopped here because of the great reviews and ya'll were NOT WRONG! We had EXCELLENT carnitas, asada, pastor, lengua, and cabeza street tacos with beans and rice. Everything was cooked to order and delicious. The pastor was sweet, red sauce spicy, and service was great.
We will be back!
Well seasoned food, but their not open when they say they are so if hours could be updated that would be nice, I've gone three times now and on Google it says you're open but you're not, still my favorite mexican spot !
I moved up from California 11 years ago and have been trying to find good Mexican food. Nothing in Portland even comes close to El Porvenir.
Through and through you can tell its a family owned and run restaurant and they take a lot of pride in their food. Chicken, Carne Asada, Caritas, Lengua, and Chorizo are all top notch.
Plus. You can opt for the handmade mask tortillas which make it even better.
You don't want to miss this place!
Local Mexican restaurant nearby has decent food for good prices. The taco plate combo was only $8.99.
I was in the neighborhood and I popped in for lunch on a whim. Ordered the carnitas plate and it did not disappoint (kicking myself for not taking a picture because it was a beautiful plate). The carnitas was delicious, with just the right amount of crisp, and the sides and toppings were all just right, down to the perfectly ripe slices of avocado and perfectly roasted jalapeno. Definitely worth a visit, will stop in again.
