Great outdoor space with an amazing view of the St Johns Bridge. We would totally come here again. We had the beer wurst and the pork schnitzel. Really tasty. We would definitely come back here, and whenever you can say that in Portland, it's a winner!

Absolutely a true gem of authenticity and craftsmanship. What a pleasure to drop into Urban German Wursthaus today. My friend and I were on a mission for a great beer and an even better meal and we couldn't have come to a better place. We were FLOORED at the quality of food and service accompanied by such great service to host us all the way from the beginning of our order to the end of our meal. SO, given the variety of selections on the menu we decided to split the 4 wurst sausage meal, jagerschnitzel eith mushroom gravy and pretzel and mustard between the two of us and it couldn't have been better! Every bite was met with a delicious authenticity that felt like we should've been across the ocean in Germany. The sauerkraut was juicy but lightt, each different sausage was unique in flavor and oh so tender! Everything was given in generous proportions and not a leftover piece was left unturned. Needless to say, we cannot recommend this truly unique establishment anymore! A true example of being a representative of one's heritage and executing to perfection. I recommend anyone in Portland to try one of their delicious meals followed by a round of beer.

A lovely cozy pub. Nice selection of beers. Great staff behind the bar. They also had very nice Christmas decorations.

Awesome slice of Germany in Portland. Great atmosphere overall. The balcony is big and comfortable with nice umbrellas that keep the sun at bay. The inside seating is comfortable and the vibe is perfect. They’ve got music going but it’s not too loud. Service is awesome - friendly staff who are happy to talk about beer or food. So bier. Or beer. So awesome. Great variety of German beers. I enjoyed everything we tried. I’d post them but they change taps so just get samples or ask about them. Food we had the Schnitzel w red cabbage and German potato salad. It’s delicious. 10/10 would order again. My wife had the Bavarian Wurst and it too was delicious. So yeah. Come out and enjoy the food, beer, and nice space.

This place is a hidden gem. Their muled spice yumminess is fantastic. I don't even remember what we ordered, but it was filling it was delicious and it had such a unique flavor profile. The service was friendly and the atmosphere was festive. There was a line and door good reason. I will be visiting here again soon.

Love this place. I usually have the spaetzel with sausage and a side of red cabbage but recently I tried the Reuben with fries. It was great. They were possibly the best fries I’ve ever had. I always bring out of town friends here since the balcony is nice and there’s a lovely view of the bridge.

It was ok. A bit different. Pretzels are good. I was not a fan of anything else. Best to check the menu online so you're ready to order as there's no waitresses. Just the one front lady.

I love German food, my parents came from Southern Germany a region called Bavaria and in fact my father was a chef. I love the Pacific Northwest because we actually have some good German restaurants and Urban German is a wonderful surprise we came across yesterday in our search for some authentic sauerkraut. The food is phenomenal the location is just beautiful right under St Johns bridge near Cathedral Park, a beautiful setting. Family-friendly it has a lovely outdoor patio or beer garden and inside the walls are covered with reminders of a country I hold dear. My husband loves Schweinshaxen. It is a pork hock and they did such an amazing job the skin was crispy and the meat was delicious it goes through a curing process similar to ham before it's roasted and it's just amazing and not easy to find they did a beautiful beautiful job. I was thrilled to meet I think the owner who said he was from Berlin, he told me they make their own sausages which to me makes the place authentic and in fact you can buy sausages to take home there's a small freezer near the front counter. I ordered sausage and pomfrets also known as french fries. I ate every single french fry it was just fantastic they were light and airy and crispy and seasoned and perfect and just something you must have when you're there I cannot wait to go back to try other menu items because what we ordered was fantastic we also had a pretzel with a cheese fondue sauce and they have different kinds of mustard and ketchups on tap. This seems like a great place for young people in the evening I'm sure it gets really fun and exciting and during the day you can bring your dog or your kids and sit on the deck and enjoy the park after lunch just a wonderful wonderful place I can't recommend it enough.

This place is so fun. One the best views when sitting outside right by St. John's bridge. The beer selection is very interesting, all German style beers in big tankards. The food is fantastic. I used to think it was expensive but they haven't changed their prices during this whole year of mega-inflation when everyone else did and now they practicially seem cheap by comparison. So I would recommend 10/10.

Great German food in a super cool atmosphere!! The restaurant has a very Bavarian vibe, and good views of the St. John’s Bridge from some tables. Lots of light and some outdoor seating as well on the deck. The beer options are awesome, lots of good beers to choose from. The food is also really tasty. The cool thing is that they have some nice vegetarian and vegan options, which I feel like you don’t get at many German restaurants. I had the classic pork schnitzel which was delicious, it came with a huge portion of German warm potato salad and red cabbage. Also had the pretzel, which was nice and warm and salty. Lastly, we had the vegetarian würst, which was really nice and well seasoned with a lot of mustard and sauerkraut. Lots of sauces too choose from. And the happy hour menu has some fun options I’ll have to come back to try.
