Great ramen, never been disappointed. Regular menu items are all very good and the specials bring unique flavor profiles that usually work really well. Quick to be seated and served, definitely one of the best places to eat in the neighborhood, and one of my favorite ramen spots in town! Also very vegan friendly :)
I miss the cumin ramen special!!
We've tried so many ramen places and have liked most of them... but this one is the best. We had pickled mushrooms and cucumber salad, tan tan ramen and curry ramen. Everything was exceptional. The staff was friendly and accommodating, they even had plastic bowls and kids utensils. I HIGHLY recommend going here.
My partner and I visited Portland recently and loved this place so much we went both days we were there! I had the tan tan ramen and my partner had the Asian Tacos the first night when we dined in. It was so dang delicious and the portions are well worth the prices. The atmosphere is super cozy and the service was super quick. Night number 2 we ordered in tan tan ramen and it was just as delicious as takeout. 10/10. I would suggest ubering or something to this place bc street parking is sparse.
Great Ramen places in town, dont miss this one. We ordered- Tan Tan Ramen, Chilli Oil Tofu noodles, Spicy Mala Taco, Tan Tan Taco- both with tofu, Kale Potstickers and Edamame- all of them were tasty and yum. Wish we were told the noodles were cold, however they tasted nice. Definitely will come back to this one, go for it if you want a good nice hot Ramen, don't miss it.
1. lot of vegan options
2. Service was good, no complaints
3. Heated Outdoor seating available
I absolutely love this place. Been coming here for years. Today is my Friday, and when the owner (Mikey) found out, he asked if it was okay to but me a piece of cheese cake. WHAT A GEM!
The original chef, Kayo, is from Japan and makes all her noodles for their ramen from scratch. Her recipe is what they still use.
With fall approaching, run, don’t walk to Kayo Ramen!
Favorite dishes: Tantan and the Garlic Fried rice!
And also now?… the cheesecake! Wow! So creamy, such a deep and rich taste of sweet cheese. Fantastic addition to the menu!
Nothing is better on a cold rainy night like a good Ramen and a Japanese lager. I love Ramen at Kayo's, especially Mala. You won't be disappointed if you like spicy noodle soup.
Hands down best place in Portland!! Ramen Smacks!! Tacos are otherworldly. Best tacos in Portland! Oh and that cheesecake! Best damn cheesecake you’ll ever have. Owners Scott and Mikey are the best hosts and humans. Thank you!!!
The food is good. The place has outside area so my friend and I can sit talk loudly without being afraid if we bother others. My friend really likes the pickled shiitake mushroom. I have their signature ramen and love it. Our server Jennifer was very nice. She came to our table frequently even thought it was hot outside. I love the place <3
we came to portland to visit for the weekend and this place came up as one of the best ramen restaurants so we had to try! the tan tan ramen was so good. the lady at the front was super kind and patient explaining the different kinds for us. loved the outdoor seating area. highly recommend!
We had the MaLa Garlic Fried rice & umechurri taco. Both were flavorful. Our waiter, Jennifer was eager to help whenever the opportunity. I will come another time when possible.
The service is great, everything is clean including the condiment containers. We sat outside because there was no room inside but it was still very nice and warm due to the heaters. They have a vegan broth and many different soup base options for vegetarians and vegans! The food came quickly and was good. The server continously ask us how our meal was. I have no complains and I absolutely recommend!
Vegan miso ramen was good. Vegan tantan ramen was nice for people who love sesame and peanuts. Tofu tasted a little sweet
