I've ate Mexican food all over PDX, Beaverton, Salem, Vancouver and La Panza is just killin it(cali too). Amazing salsas, sopaipilla to die for, Chile relleno is second to no one , flavor train flavor town, and don't skip the coconut flan. I've been looking for Mexican food to quench the search for quality and La Panza is it!
Great food and great service! Being from NM, and hearing about this NM spot, I had to try it. Huevos Rancheros Christmas style with a side of Posole..... perfection! The chile was flavorful with decent heat. If I wasn't so full, I would have ordered a Sopapilla!!! I will be back though!
So glad we found this place! As a daughter of a sushi restaurant owner, I have always had a hard time finding sushi that I found to be great quality and affordable — but this is it! I especially love their emphasis on salmon dishes (though there are plenty of other options!) - the aburi salmon is A+! Def get there early because it filled up within 20 mins of opening - they also have outdoor dining which was great!
This place is without a doubt the best sushi place in Portland Oregon! I've been going to a go-to restaurant down the street but they were closed so decide to try this one out, it was so freaking good!
The quality of the sushi, the temporal and miso soup was on a whole nother level. Was so fresh and made to order in a way that I very rarely see, I highly highly highly recommend this place I will for sure be returning!
We really enjoyed our dinner here. This place does not look like much from the outside, but the food and value/quality deliver. Fish tasted great and fresh, prices were very reasonable. Service was great too. It is a very small establishment though with limited seating.
Hole in the wall place serving the BEST sushi I've had outside of Japan. Thick cut nigiri and generous portions of tempura shrimp and unagi don at unbeatable prices. Seating inside is super limited but patio seating (unheated) is available. Definitely going back.
I've been a big fan of Kashi's sushi for a long time and I'm glad they are back since at least last year. I didn't really eat sushi until I started going to the previous location over 10 years ago. Food is tasty and staff is friendly. My fave is the Tempura Calamari. I miss the conveyor belt but this place is nice too.
Excellent service, food, and atmosphere. It was so refreshing to not have the typical pop radio playing!
The agedashi was really crispy & creamy with such a flavorful sauce.
The karaage was hot and tasty.
The nigiri was on point (and I'm a tough critic).
We were waiting for them to open on a Friday evening and were the only ones there for a bit. The online orders were pouring in and the wait time was quickly up to an hour for the first walk-ins after us. I was happy they were so busy, but plan accordingly by showing up first or ordering ahead.
Mom and pop sushi joint with chef Kashiwagi! The sushi piece was fresh and huge. Enjoyed the chirashi bowl too. The place is small and old and could be renovated.
Wow wow wow!!! Probably the best sushi I have had in Portland. The service was amazing, our waitress was so kind & made sure we had everything we needed. Not to mention you CANNOT beat the prices. I will definitely be returning here super frequently.
Really sweet family-owned spot. I grew up working at my own family's sushi restaurant, so I have a real soft spot for places like this. Unbeatable price to quality ratio. I saw the $20 chirashi and knew I had to give it a try and was generally not disappointed. They could definitely charge more than they do.
The only area where I was disappointed was the sushi rice. It was a bit on the dry side and I found it far too sweet. That said, my husband liked the seasoning, so YMMV. And this is certainly something that could be different at different times of day. I was there for lunch toward the end of the shift and it seems possible that the rice was toward the bottom of the pot.
TL;DR- For the price:quality ratio and family-owned factor I'll definitely be back to try more menu items.
It’s all about the rice. That’s what makes sushi either great or not. Fish is high quality too, but lots of places have great fish. Vibe is very legit (fwiw I lived in Japan for 3 years). Service is friendly and helpful. Tonight at 6:30 they were quite busy so we had a nice chill pace to our meal. If you seek fast service, arrive when they open.
