OMG, what a great little bar. Old school, with a fireplace and no tv's, what a refreshing surprise! But the piece de resistance was Lloyd Jones with his Monday blues. I died and went to blues heaven!
Curtis is awesome!!!! Walked in with a group of 8. He took very good care of us. The pizza was so good and everything came out the same time. Not a single complaint. 10/10 will come back! Thank you so much!!!!
Great atmosphere that had some solid live music. It’s clear this is a local gem of Sellwood. Pizza was solid and priced pretty well
Still the best pizza and only best Stromboli!! You just need 1 for a party of 2 to 3. Awesome music. A little high in price but I pay every time for the amazing pizza and Stromboli!!! Its the only place I have found that compares to east and mid west!! They get busy so please be patient!!
Awesome restaurant in the heart of Sellwood. THEY HAVE STROMBOLI!! it was sooo good! I ordered the Staff Jennings Stromboli, it had pepperoni, mozzarella, jalapeños, and kalamata olives - the dough was superb. This restaurant also had various types of infused vodka. - I ordered the strawberry rhubarb sling. Eat Here!

Service has improved since my last review. My last review was not enthusiastic, but I always believe that local food establishment need a lot of latitude in ratings, especially if they have changed.
In the case of the Muddy Rudder, I am proud to have had dinner here tonight! My dinner and drinks were served quickly, and the staff were cordial and very attentive.
The Rudder, like many other small restaurants, has pulled through adversity of COVID. These times aren’t easy for any small business, but I endorse and encourage people to come out and support the Rudder and any other small business!
My dinner was amazing, I had a small pan Margarita pizza. It came out HOT. The only complaint I can raise is that the pizza was just too darn large! Blasted all, I have excellent left overs! That’s NOT a problem! My advice, come hungry, or be ready to take home a doggy bag.
The atmosphere has picked up, it is more festive at this time of year. There are people back at the bar stools. One can have a fun conversation with anyone here. It’s great food, good drinks, and a very relaxed sepia atmosphere.
This is the crown jewel of Sellwood!
Happy hour. Limited menu - I had the pizza, and it was okay. A special salad looked great. Beer was inexpensive. Waitstaff was really rushed but effective. Outdoor seating was delightful.
Great cocktails, great food! We think the pizza punches WAY above it's weight class. Cocktail and cheese pizza happy hour is our new lil tradition!
This place is awesome! Pizzas are fantastic and love that they use Bob's Red Mill products for the crust. Staff is friendly and welcoming. The place can get busy some times, so just relax, your food/drink will get to soon enough!
Fantastic service and delicious food! We got the pizza, meatball sub and chocolate cake and it was all fantastic! They have 2 patios that are cute and welcoming.
