I heard of voodoo doughnut a lot so since I was in Portland I had to stop in eve though I am not much of a doughnut fan. I ordered the Mexican hot chocolate doughnut which was a chocolate doughnut with chili sugar on it was not really my thing also got the ol' Dirty Bastard doughnut was covered in oreo cookies & peanut but my wife loved this one. The voodoo doll doughnut shaped like the name says & my favourites were the mango filled doughnut & the special with lemon filling with pink lemonade topping both were delicious & worth buying.

While Seattle is fantastic, I was determined to take a train just down to Portland to get a taste of that city, too. Unfortunately, the train was canceled due to a mudslide, and we were bused to Portland.First stop: Voodoo Doughnut.Voodoo is a quirky, suggestive donut shop that's open 24 hours a day, with lines twisting and turning outside the sparkly brick building through pink gates.

Having seen Voodoo Doughnuts on the telly multiple time, I was excited to give it a try. Craving something sweet late one night, my friends and I pounced.

Star 1 - Was the service good?

You pick what you want, you order it, you get it immediately. Honestly, it would be hard fort he service not to be at least star-worthy. That having been said, both locations can get absolutely ridiculously crowded, and even the longest of lines doesn't seem to bother the counter staff. Luckily, there is plenty to do while you wait to include simply laughing at the creative and exhausting menu. Star Granted.

Star 2 - How were the portions relative to the cost?

While roughly $1 for a fried ball of dough may seem a bit on the expensive side ($2.50 for my massive apple fritter), the variety of doughnuts available makes the price well worth it. At the end of the day, you can walk out of VooDoo Doughnuts fully stocked with great-tasting donuts for under $5. Star Granted.

Stars 3/4 - Did the food taste good?

While Donuts are hard to mess up, they can also be extremely hard to make unique (I've never understood the appeal of Krispy Kremes). However, with what must be 50+ options, Voodoo Donuts really does succeed in making donuts appealing to even patrons with the most unique of tastes (bacon? on a donut?). Dual Stars Granted.

Star 5 - Would you eat it every day if you could?

While I'm not a huge dessert person, going to VooDoo donuts really was a huge treat that I very much enjoyed. However, as anyone can grow weary of the basic elements of a donut, I really would have given VooDoo a coveted 5-Star rating if they had ice cream available to compliment the donuts. As they didn't, I can't honestly say I could bring myself to come here on a daily basis. No Star Granted.

As I’ve mentioned before, donuts is pretty much synonymous with Portland and nothing screams donuts more than Voodoo Doughnuts.

Voodoo Doughnut Too is their second location and open 24 hours a day if you need to get your donut fix on. Check out our last visit here for more details on this location.

Keep an eye out for all of the references to their iconic Voodoo Doll Doughnut filled with raspberry jelly and topped with chocolate frosting and a pretzel stake. When you walk inside, make sure you turn around and take a look at their stained glass windows.

Be careful if you plan on walking around with one of these bright pink boxes… everyone will know exactly what you’re carrying from blocks away.

Voodoo Doughnuts is more fun and playful when compared with Blue Star Donuts – if I had to choose, I’d probably pick Blue Star… but I’m not going to scoff at a Voodoo Doll.

Best donut to get here is definitely the Voodoo Doll!

This place has some classic donuts. It's a tourist food attraction. Their donuts are neatly decorated and delicious. There's a long wait time because of its popularity. If you're ever in Portland, this is the place to visit for good donuts.

The line was quite long, but it was worth it for the product we received. My wife ordered a dozen doughnuts (ignoring my calls of caution) and, while I enjoyed it, the sugar content of one doughnut was enough for me to distictly feel pain in the vicinity of my liver.

I would suggest taking the time in line to pick carefully what doughnut[s] you want, as most people can only handle one or two before their bodies begin to protest. All the moments leading up to your body fighting it are well worth the experience though!

There is a lot of hype about this place. Granted we came here mid afternoon but the doughnuts where dry and the staff was not very helpful. I would pass for my local bakery with fresh doughnuts.

I don't eat doughnuts, but my daughter LOVED this place. The lines are long, but it moves pretty fast. It helps if you've got your mind made up before you get there. Parking wasn't horrible at this location.

I'll start by saying I am a doughnut snob. I am constantly in search of the best doughnuts, and I have tried them all over the country. I knew I had to try this place during a visit to Portland, and I can sum it up by saying this: It is a cool place, with a great atmosphere and unique doughnut flavors that you won't find anywhere else. But I have had much better doughnuts elsewhere. My friend and I had Maple Bacon Bars, something this place is famous for, and buttermilk bars. The maple bar was tasty but very sweet. The buttermilk bar was good but kind of dry. We went at about 8 AM on a Thursday and there was no line. And be forewarned: there are no descriptions of the doughnuts anywhere. You kind of just have to guess or wing it and so guess you could ask the staff, but good luck with that if they are busy. Very good coffee to go with your selections if you are into that. So check it out if you are into funky artwork and atmosphere, but there are a bunch of doughnut shops in Portland and I bet you will find a better tasting doughnut in a lesser known shop.

Worth a 25 minute wait in the drizzly rain!. We had a bacon maple bar which was awesome and the McMinnville cream which was outstanding. We ate them very slowly to enjoy every bite.

I visited Voodoo Doughnut in Davis, Oregon on a weekday afternoon. I was surprised to be the only patron, but the staff was friendly and welcoming. I ordered a dozen donuts, which cost $25. The donuts were creative and delicious, I was not disappointed by the quality or the price. The shop is located in a somewhat sketchy area, with a moderate homeless population. However, the parking lot is secure and vagrant-free. Overall, I would recommend Voodoo Doughnut to anyone looking for a unique and delicious donut experience. Here are some pros and cons of Voodoo Doughnut in Davis, Oregon: Pros: Creative and delicious donuts Friendly and welcoming staff Secure parking lot Cons: Located in a somewhat sketchy area Can be expensive Overall, I would give Voodoo Doughnut in Davis, Oregon a 4 out of 5 stars. It is a great place to go for a unique and delicious donut experience, but it is not worth a special trip. Here are some additional tips for visiting Voodoo Doughnut in Davis, Oregon: Go during the week to avoid the crowds. Order online to skip the line. Be prepared to spend a little bit more than you would at a traditional donut shop. Enjoy the unique and creative flavors!

Voodoo was our first stop in Portland on the way to our hotel. We arrived at 5pm on a Wed and were the only ones there. We decided on the Voodoo dozen - 13 for $25. Otherwise, the donuts were $1.25-$5.50 each. We thought they were phenomenal - super soft, fluffy, and flavorful. Very original flavors like Grape Ape (grape flavored), Oh Captain My Captain (Captain Crunch on top), The Dirt (chocolate cream filled cookies on top). Customer service was fast and friendly.

I went there twice during my weekend trip in Portland last week. The donuts are nice and fluffy. My boyfriend and I got the special donuts there, I was surprised you can customize the font and color of the icing. We had a fun time taking pictures of each other eating it.

If your late-night craving calls for a vegan donut fix, your search ends here at Voodoo Doughnut in Davis. They've got just what you need. With a dazzling array of unique and playful creations, Voodoo is a haven for donut enthusiasts. Sure, you might find yourself waiting in line, reminiscent of the queues at Disneyland, but don't fret. Strike up a conversation with fellow donut lovers in line and make some new friends – after all, only the coolest people flock to Voodoo! 😉🍩✨

I enjoyed this donut shop for its novelty and fun-themed donuts including the Homer. Visit this location with ample parking and hardly a wait. I went to the Old Town location, but after seeing a very long line and no parking in sight, I kept driving and came to this nearby location.

It was so much fun visiting this place for yummy donuts that are hard to choose from. We sat outside and ate a few of them and took another variety box home. And it was a hit, everyone was so excited and eager to try VooDoo Donuts.

Of course, if you're in Portland -- Voodoo Donuts is a must. A lot of people say it's hyped but more than the hype, Voodoo has really great tasting donuts and a variety of flavor combinations that made them popular. This branch in Davis has no lines early in the morning. We got here as soon as they opened to get our coffee and donut fix. Not all flavors were available yet but they already have more than a dozen to choose from! We also grabbed their cute pink Voodoo donut mugs for souvenirs.

In and out in around 5 minutes on Sunday during Labor Day weekend, the Davis location made trying them out a lot simpler than expected. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the doughnuts were very good. What maybe gets lost with the hype around their signature doughnuts is that their Portland Cream is a pretty solid Boston cream analog, and I'd recommend it. Also, with the pink bike racks and bike-share docks nearby, you can have the very Portland experience of getting your doughnuts carless.

Voodoo Doughnut in Davis is a sweet indulgence paradise. The doughnuts are creative, funky, and undeniably delicious. While the line can be long, the wait is absolutely worth it. The variety is mind-boggling, and the flavors are extraordinary. It's not just a doughnut shop; it's an experience that tantalizes your taste buds and leaves you craving more. If you're a doughnut aficionado, this place is a must-visit. Just be prepared for the crowd; it speaks volumes about how fantastic their treats are!

This Voodoo Doughnut location sure beats the long line of the downtown one. Obviously the downtown location draws lots of people because of its history. If you want the same delicious doughnuts with good service and don't want the line... This is the place to go! I would have given 5 stars if the merch was slightly more affordable. I paid $50 for my delicious😋 variety of selected doughnuts, I didn't want to walk out spending $100, so I didn't. 😀
