We have been dying to go to Tilt and have stalked it here for a long time. We finally made it down there and it did not disappoint. We sat ay the bar, and the waitress helped us order. Otherwise, you stand in a line, get a buzzer, find a table, then get your food when you are buzzed. We enjoyed burger, beers, and breakfast sandwiches! We also got a slice of key lime pie to finish it off. We went on a Friday and there was a DJ playing 90's hip hop and stole my heart. He was using vinyl records. Look, this is a big deal. I come from florida, and have been a DJ; everything is digital. This was really cool to see turntables! I had a great time and recommend Tilt.

The burgers were giant, filling, and loaded with toppings. The groundhog burger was great and I hope to go back and try a couple of the others. The regular sized fries is plenty for 2-3 and are absolutely fantastic- especially with the homemade ranch. The building is very dimly light and industrial looking. Overall it was a great place to eat- just with a strange environment.

My wife and I had a couple of noteworthy restaurant visits during our quick trip to Portland. The first comes from TILT, a small local chain featuring handcrafted food with an emphasis on burgers and sandwiches. We visited with some friends who highly recommended this for our first meal of the trip.

Wait in line for a fan favorite burger or breakfast sandwich with and brews. There is no table service here. There are a few tables for outdoor seating and also a side of the place that has a full bar and even an occasional in house DJ playing tunes in the background while you pig out. Rumor has it they have a bottomless mimosa during brunch on the weekend.

It would be hard to find a better burger in Portland. But if you take advantage of the all day breakfast menu, beware that the biscuit sandwiches are super dry and though it's in the menu, friend prime rib is no longer served. But seriously....the burgers.

Nice industrial themed place to meet and down a few brews and get some fine burgers. Not a place to sit, chat and hangout all afternoon, since the seating isn't long term comfy. We had the Woody Royale and the Groundhog. Both filling and tasty, and they have a decent beer selection. Hard to go wrong here.

Great onion rings. Family friendly which can be a good thing or a bad thing. They have some different tasting craft cocktails that are pretty fun.

The food is really good. Super greasy hits the spot after some drinks. The problem is they charge a lot with skimpy portions.

This place is delicious. I discovered it during nacho week and had to come back because the nachos were so good. All of the flavors they use across their menu are very consistent and delicious. They have an extensive cocktail list. LOVED the Elixir (lychee) and the passionfruit cocktails the most. Great vibes inside and wonderful staff.

The catch of the day was Mahi, and it was delicious. I added the Mahi to my octopus plate. The octopus had a good char to it. Would definitely get it again. The server we had was nice and helpful with suggestions. We started with the appetizer plate (not pictured) empanada, taquito, queso, guacamole, and chips and salsa. It was a good amount for 4 people. The bone in porch chop looked good and was gone before I could snag a bite. Camarones Mojo De Ajo was ordered by another in our party, and she said it did not disappoint. Drinks specials were tasty. We made reservations, but probably didn't need them.

I enjoyed our evening at Toro. We were there for a birthday dinner and there were 8 of us. We were there on a Monday night and service was a bit slow, unsure how it is on a weekend. Everything we tasted was yummy! We liked the tacos, fried ice cream, cocktails, and chips/quac.Really like the ambiance and the garage doors that open to the outside. I also thought food was well priced for such a fun atmosphere! It’s tough to find parking around there also, so get there early!

Writing this review a bit late, as we actually went for dinner within the first week or so of Toro opening up. No major complaints. Everything was good across the board, but I also wouldn't say that anything truly blew me away to earn five stars. Prices were a bit steep for what it all was, however the location is likely what leads to paying a bit of a premium. Drinks were solid, apps were good, and our tacos were fine too! The concept of Mexican cuisine with an elevated experience makes sense for the area, but I wouldn't personally say I've been frequenting Toro. Worth a try, though, and I'd like to think it has only gotten better as the weeks/months have gone by.

We came for the first time during Portland Nacho Week. Their nacho is delicious (though not a regular menu item) and the chicken empanadas were also great. Nice variety of cocktails. It was over 90° outside yet the restaurant remained cool inside. Nice atmosphere and comfortable seating. Came back another time for happy hour and definitely recommend!

Underrated restaurant! Walked in on a Friday night, no reservation and seated right away. There was 3 other tables in an otherwise pretty empty restaurant, especially compared to Janken across the street which was packed with a wait out the door. Chris, our server, was excellent! Super prompt and very nice. Not sure where all the poor reviews about service are coming from. Food was definitely a surprise. Everything we tried was very tasty, well balanced and fresh flavors. We got the Chicaron de Pollo (crispy chicken skins) and Chorizo + Potato empanadas to start. Next for mains the Pulpo a la Parrilla (octopus) and Enchilada de Res (braised barbacoa). Then ended the meal with a very succulent flan dessert. Food came out within 15 minutes, and perfectly cooked. Octopus is hard to cook on its own, but the octopus here (three large tentacles) was grilled to perfection, tender and juicy with a nice char on the outside. Additionally to the dishes being well presented, the serving sizes were generous. For two, it was plenty of food if you're hungry and even have leftovers to take home. The ambiance and décor was bright, simple and modern, yet comfortable and pleasant. A highly worth it dining experience at just over $30/person (before drinks). Having also been to Janken across the way, we actually prefer this restaurant for its incredible value and less pretentious vibes and will definitely return. Highly recommend giving it a try!

Accidentally found TORO and I am thrilled that I did. The food was fantastic and the staff very approachable. First visit to Portland and it did not disappoint in my first meal out. Be sure to try the tomatillo sauce it was great.

Visited this place on business trip with colleagues and customers. I enjoyed everything what this restaurant has to offer. Drinks were excellent, food was delicious and service was attentive. Restaurant itself is nicely decorated. I can highly recommend octopus. It was very well prepared and fresh.

We live in the area and actually stumbled upon Toro while walking to another restaurant… we had never even heard of it! The garage doors were wide open and it was very inviting. Seems like the marketing fell short because this place has been open for two months and we knew nothing about it. Our server Shyanne was incredibly knowledgeable, personable and made great recommendations on the menu. Loved the queso appetizer, pork and swordfish dishes. Excited to come back to this gem!

The six of us had fabulous dinners. There were options for our vegetarian diners. We thought we were too full for dessert but ordered 3 items to share, so glad we did! We will be back again to try more of the meals on the menu- it was hard to choose what to order, so many good choices.
