Always a wonderful meal from a big menu of choices including seafood, steak and prime rib. Also choice of lighter portion or senior menu. I love the full meal with relish tray, bread, salad or soup, entree with potato and ice cream for dessert. Popular restaurant and typically a lengthy wait to be seated. No reservations.

I haven’t had this great of a service… almost ever. Greatest and promptly seated, waitress came at offered drinks within moments, came back for my wine order. We split a large top sirloin and they have an option to pay to get the sides for a small fee, which we did. Good veggies and ranch sauce with seasoning. Fresh warm bread with melted butter and garlic on the side. Wife’s tea came in a smaller glass but a small refill tumbler came as well, when that got low another was brought with fresh ice. Red blend wine was good. Steak came at the proper temp (that we like), baked potato with the requested toppings. Didn’t feel hovered over but always felt she was near and answered our questions. We finished with a scoop of coffee ice cream that was so good. Have to say for just visiting Portland Oregon I’m sad that I won’t be back any time soon, almost worth come back just for dinner. For the parking I turned in one lane too early and then a left and had to go around the block. No way to get into the two lane (one way) parking. And I dropped off our senior 91 at the side door… it’s an exit only. Despite my attitude coming in… it all melted away with the great service (and wine)… a must try place for sure if you’re near Portland Oregon!

We love dining out at Sayler's. The service is always excellent, the prime filets are some of the best around at a reasonable price. Lately I have been ordering the crab louis which is loaded with crab. They also have a great pork roast, a nice selection of steaks and fried chicken. Every meal starts with a relish tray, bread and garlic butter and ends with a scoop of ice cream.

Really enjoyed my meal here, especially the great service. Really cool old school joint. Food was pretty good but the steak needed more salt on it and wasn't cooked the best, not awful but just not the best - one side was more cooked than the other and you can tell they are trying to produce a lot of orders, it's a pretty big place with lots of tables. Mashed potatoes weren't very hot, next time I'll get the baked potato which my friend got and looked awesome with bacon and cheese. Relish tray, bread were great. Ice cream was great. Fun experience overall.

The food in this price is fantastic! Recommend rib eye. There's a lot of things that come with the steak. I like all the appetizers, sizes and even the ice cream. The waitress named Diana provided the best service. She is professional, passionate and lovely. She really made our dinner a super pleasant experience.

Our kids treated us to a most excellent dinner here to celebrate our 40th anniversary. It had been a few years since I'd been back to Sayler's. It was better than I remembered. From the onion rings to the dipping sauce to the relish tray, bread with dinner, meal and choice of ice creams or sherbet, everything was awesome. The service was top-notch. The only drawback was that it felt very hot where we were. Indeed, the thermostat was behind us on the wall, and it read 77°. It was uncomfortable in that regard. Otherwise, all was great.

Ole School Steakhouse. Service and food was very good. Took me back a little to steakhouses I visited with my parents on the East Coast. Lol. Good value, worth the visit. Onion rings were fantastic. They do steaks right.

Wow! What a hidden gem! Stopped here on our way back from Bend not knowing what an amazing meal we were about to have. We were greeted by a friendly host and even though the restaurant was packed, we were sat within two minutes. Our server who was also friendly and personable, greeted us promptly after being seated and offered to start us out with drinks and an appetizer. We had a prawn cocktail which was amazing. Big, plump, juicy tender shrimp with a perfectly chilled cocktail sauce. A generous portion. For dinner we ordered the Filet Mignon and Prime Rib with sides. They served a basket of warm, delicious French bread with butter and an appetizer plate with chilled veggies with ranch that was free of charge and part of the meal. Everything was cooked to perfection, and the portion sizes were extremely generous. Our server checked back with us regularly and was extremely personable. Best service we’ve had in a very long time. I can’t recommend this restaurant enough, looking forward to the next time we pass through so we can return. This is a must stop- don’t even think of going anywhere else.

Don't be fooled by the name. Sayler's Old Country Kitchen is not trying to be a Cracker Barrel competitor. This is a bonafide STEAKHOUSE with all the trimmings. They even have the option of trying to eat a 72 oz Sirloin in one hour to get it free! The pricing is very fair for what you're getting when you order one of the steak dinners. DO NOT order anything else, as your steak dinner already includes a tasty appetizer (a relish of assorted pickled veggies), a salad, bread, choice of sides, and desert (ice cream or sherbet)! My steak was cooked exactly to my medium rare order, and was delicious - a very good New York cut. The service was friendly and paced just right. The bread was just ok, but everything else was really good. This was just the meal I needed after finishing a couple of hikes in the Columbia River Gorge earlier that day. You really can't go wrong here, except maybe if you're vegan. (Just a black bean burger on the menu for you.) Try it!
