This upscale Mexican cuisine restaurant offers a fine dining experience. Eating indoors is quite loud and wouldn't be ideal for a business meeting on a weekend. But sitting outside drinking cocktails and munching on tacos is the perfect group outing or date night event. Come hungry because their portion sizes are quite large.

First of all let me say that I have always loved Mi Cocina! This particular location is inside of the Galleria Mall on the 1st floor. I had a long day of shopping for a few hours with my friends and like always we worked up a nice appetite. What better place than Mi Cocina do you go when you want some great Tex-Mex type of food. I love that they offer happy hour Monday-Thursdays so for anybody that comes during the week can take advantage of it.
When we first arrived we were greeted and seated right away! Score! No reservations needed or anything. Our server was super sweet and also patient. We took forever to order because we all were just catching up and barley even glanced at the menu. To kick things off right of course we started with some of the signature cocktails that they offer. My drink of choice was the cucumber margarita and boy was it tasty! YUM! I love when the bartender has no shame in making a drink that has some PUNCH! I think everybody at my table said that the drinks were amazing! I always go for the shaken since the ice takes up so much room in the cup when they don't pour it in the martini glass. The complimentary chips and salsa is always appreciated to pair with your drinks. I was feeling like a salad so I asked our server about some of the popular options. The chef has a special menu that day to choose from and the salad that caught my eye was called the "ensalada de flacca" or something of that nature. I added a salmon fillet on top with light dressing and I couldn't have been more happy with it. Delicious would be an understatement! My friends also enjoyed their orders and we all left full and a bit tipsy! What else can you ask for?
It was good. Salsa was ok. Chicken enchiladas were good (nice sauce on top.). My colleague seemed to enjoy his salad. Service was ok - we were never even asked what we wanted to drink - they gave us water when we were seated. It took a while for the bill to come. Overall, food was good. Service was ok.
we always take the open patio as food is really enjoyable with a very commendable service.
I have almost tried most of the things on there menu and it seems they have perfected all the stuff with no doubts

Outdoor Patio with a Great View & Food. This Mi Cocina has a wonderful location. It's in a major shopping destination, but they have positioned the restaurant to sit between the shopping center and a pond with a fountain. When you enter you will see large mirror wall on the right and a rave style bar on the left. It looks way bigger than it is because of the mirror wall. The decor is a mix of white and black with curved edges and arches. The best part of the restaurant is in the back. They have a very large patio with a combination of covered and uncovered seating that looks out on the pond and fountain. It's really nice and the hour wait punctuates how many people want to sit out there.
Service is average to a little below average, but I give a pass because of the view and atmosphere. They are slow to cover all the tables. An extra server would help along with a few more smiles and welcoming attitude. The food is really good. We enjoyed the Tilapia special. The chicken enchilada was fresh and tasty. The chips were thicker than I like, and the queso was middle of the road. I will definitely be back in nice weather to sit on that patio.
The atmosphere is quite pleasant - especially on the lakeside patio. Food is good - for those of you who dare to call it bland ask your server for the house hot sauce!! Tacos de brisket are by far the best item on the menu, although my husband would argue in favor of the sunset enchiladas. Service has always been stellar. However, I've witnessed jerk customers treat the staff poorly and the staff responded accordingly - can't say I would blame them...
A favorite of ours. Rico Salad, Tacos Al Carbon with the bean soup, and Mama's Tacos are a few of our favorite dishes. Great margaritas and the service is excellent. Tip well and you will be remembered. Have been coming here for years and will continue to do so.
Never been dissatisfied with Mi Cocina. From the chips, queso, Mambo Taxis, cold beer, good service, and ESPECIALLY the Tacos Habana! Fabulous!
Quaint Mexican food. This is very good mexican food and it is worth it,if you are visiting Dallas. The chips and salsa are great, and so are the drinks. I was in Dallas training for a job a few years back and discovered this place. I will keep coming back.
Our favorite Mexican place in Dallas. Fresh food, fantastic service and wonderful mambos. All in a very classy environment.
