I am so very picky with my BBQ sauces! With that said, This place is so bomb! There has been nothing that I have ordered that has been less than awesome! The BBQ sauce is served on the side...that gives me complete control of the amount of sauce I add to my dish! The meat is so quite tender and tasty as well! Almost doesn't need any sauce! The stack a mac...OMG...awesome. I had the pleasure of enjoying Moms macaroni salad....It blew me away as well as many of my co-workers! The cheesy potato bake...nothing left and everyone wanted more! I can't say enough about this place! Ordered from Cranberry...Please order from this place...you will not be disappointed!
The Flame catered my son's wedding last week and it went great. They were very easy to work with. The food arrived on time and was set up perfectly. There were many compliments on how delicious the food taste. Thank you Vivian and staff !

Pittsburgh location. I am really shocked by all of the negative reviews I am reading. I have gotten food from this place, even had them cater a birthday party once, and it was been nothing but fantastic!! The meat is always cooked perfectly, and with so much flavor. My favorite is the chicken and rice, and the chicken or pork burrito.. they're huge and soo good! I was unaware of a Cranberry location, but the one off of Babcock is great! Give this place a chance!
Cranberry. Went here for lunch on a tuesday around 11:30. I had the senior beef brisket with free onions and cheddar cheese (the lunch special on tuesday). I've never had brisket before, and now I realize what I've been missing. The meat was perfectly done. Flavorful but not overpowering, you could tell someone took great care in preparing it. Unfortunately, the rest of the sandwich did not match the quality of the meat. A bland white bread roll, diced, raw onion, and low quality cheddar. Kudos on the bbq, but the little things need more attention.
P.S. The menu page on your website has "the flame" misspelled as "the Flamr"...Hilarious
Finger Lickin Q!!!. This is one of the best barbeques in town. All the meat tastes like it was just pulled. The sauce is amazing, and I'm not one for vinegar based sauces. The Boss Hog is the best thing on the menu.. its what theyre known for!
Okay Food. Their Boss Hog sandwich was one of the tastiest pulled pork sandwiches I've ever eaten. Everything else I ordered was simply average. There's not a lot of BBQ to choose from in Pittsburgh so I'd definitely give this place a try to see if it suits your tastes.
Not the best but worth a visit. While I've had better BBQ, I can't find much to fault with The Flame's pulled pork. The BBQ sauce is tangy and the Stack-A-Mac dish is delicious (it's pulled pork on top of macaroni and cheese). The BBQ chicken and beef brisket do leave something to be desired - kinda chewy/gristly. The sides are good - coleslaw, baked beans (with bacon!), and the mashed sweet potatoes are quite good.
The Flame BBQ seems to cut a lot of corners but still gets a few things incredibly right...

We ordered the pulled pork,brisket, mac and cheese, and some salad fo a small wedding reception I was hosting in my home. We picked up our order on time and everything we ordered was correct down to the serving utensils. The food was nice and hot when we opened it and it was delicious! My guests loved it. They don’t skimp on the bbq sauce or dressings for the salad. We would definitely order food again for our next party!
My wife and I loved the food here, spare ribs, and pulled pork were some of best we have ever eaten.
Homemade BBQ sauce was great This was the Flame located on Babcock Blvd. and I can attest they do a heck of a catering business also. It seems the other Flame[Cranberry] is inconsistent in their product.
The Flame catered an 'after the wedding' dinner for our family and guests. The food was delicious and very plentiful. When asked, they even came earlier than originally planned. Best BBQ in Pittsburgh!
The Flame BBQ is quite possibly the best BBQ in Pittsburgh. I first had their food at the Millvale Brewfest and have been craving it since. Their pulled pork is to die for. I've recommended them for many catering events
been there several times...family loves everything...my sides are sweet potato & beans wife loves mac and cheese boss hog...me the pulled pork and baby back ribs...the sauce is out of this world!
