It was the night of their reopening after remodeling. Place looks great. There was wall to wall
people which is understandable. I feel they needed more staff because you waited in lines for drinks and waited a long time to order food to go but once we order are food was prepared and package quickly. The food was delicious.
Honestly, it was a nice place to relax. Bar was clean and decorated to catch your eye. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Nice dinning area to watch tv and eat. Food was good at a reasonable price. The bartender made me delicious mimosas! Nice hometown bar and grill. My only complaint is the lack of parking but that is not the establishment's fault. I can definitely see me stopping in again!
We had Porky's handle the food and catering duties for our wedding and dear God, they did not disappoint. To clarify ahead of time, we did a family-style (i.e. buffet) meal.
The number one goal for our reception menu was to offer something beyond the standard Chicken Cordon Bleu, prime rib cuts, and things they most caterers feature. Between burger sliders and pierogies for appetizers, pulled pork + brisket — all of which was smoked on-site in the days leading up to the wedding — + Mexican street corn for dinner (among others) they created amazing food in every aspect.
Add to this their tireless efforts maintaining the catering side of things — setting out the chargers, keeping water refreshed, flipping tables for our late-night snack of pretzels and beer cheese — and we simply couldn't have asked for more. Stop in at their place to try the food, and if you're convinced, then we recommend them wholeheartedly to take on your event.
I been living in this area for about nine years now and I have to say after being here a few times it's a down home cool place to go for a drink and some good food staff pretty cool. Finally got to try the pull Frank and still have to get the imfomous the Rico drink not sure if they have but would love to try it considering LoL. Update i have tried the Rico drink and it is rico approved 👍.... never disappointed great service and great beers and food. My local dive spot. No change everything is exactly what I said before stellar sevice no complaints from me... home away from home.
Excellent Cuban sandwich, with mouth watering smoked pork. Lots of beer choices
Good service
Food was upscale bar food! Atmosphere was great! Staff is very friendly!
Went to Porkys Bar and Grill for the first time yesterday. Nice and cozy little place it is pretty narrow inside. It has a bar and stools. The tables sat high with high chairs as well which is not good for short people. Decent menu variety to choose from. We had tries the smoked pork , chicken ,and brisket. The meat is very flavorful. I liked the pork the best. Mac n cheese was so so. Fries and onion rings were good. Didn't care for the patato salad but I am picky on patato salad. The unsweetened iced tea was very good not to strong not to weak but on point. I would recommend going if you are in the mood for some good smoked BBQ.
Been here several times now and I have to say, this place is firing on all cylinders. The bbq is the best I’ve had in the Pittsburgh area. The draft list is far better than you would expect; not just Yuengling or over-hopped IPA’s but a wide variety to include a handful of German beers. Very friendly and welcoming vibe. They seem to treat everyone who walks through the door like a regular.
Love this local restaurant. Breakfast lunch and dinner. Great food awesome service you’ll never leave hungry.

Probably the best draught beer selection north of Pittsburgh. Even so-called "brew pubs" and "micros" don't have the selection Sips has at Porky's. I have never eaten here so I cannot comment on the food. But the drinks (and let's face it, that's why we go to bars) are fairly priced and there are several great beer options. Cheers!
Oh, yeah... and during the winter, the backroom with the dart machines, poker machines, and super cozy fireplace is the best! Something about a warm fireplace just makes the place feel more homey and enjoyable. The table by the fireplace is the place to be! If you go in and that table is open, snag it! During the summer, the back covered deck is where you want to be. Drink your custom brew "under the stars!" (or more likely, in Pittsburgh, "under the clouds!")
