The team of Dan the owner, Julie the head waiter and the excellent Szechuan cooks are! Go the the last page of their menu and order food that the numerous Chinese families and groups order: hot pots, soups with greens, twice cooked pork belly, whole fish., Experiment. You will enjoy excellent service, and first rate authentic Szechuan foods,
When you go in, turn to the last page. Order as many items off of there as you have people with you. Really fantastic Sichuan food.
Don't order General Tso's, don't order Lo Mein, don't order anything with sweet or sour in the name. They have the real deal, treat yourself to it.

If you like authentic Szechwan Chinese food, you can't do much better than China Star within an 3 hour drive of Pittsburgh, but make sure you have the CHINESE menu! There are two menus at China Star, one of americanized dishes like general tso's chicken, the other has the genuine Szechwan dishes like pickled vegetables in red oil and mapo tofu, spicy chicken with peppers, and their specialty, tea-smoked duck. Unlike some places that merely add hot peppers to make a "Szechwan" dish, these have a real complexity of flavors. Hot dishes were quite spicy yet didn't make us run for the fire extinguishers. Prices and serving sizes were reasonable, service was friendly and offered suggestions and accommodated our special requests. The restaurant setting is comfortable, clean, appropriately Chinese-themed. One pet peeve here and in other Chinese restaurants in Pittsburgh: Why the heck do I have to ASK for chopsticks in a Chinese restaurant? Pretty much all New York Chinese restaurants set them out as a matter of course. I don't like people assuming I'm an idiot who never used chopsticks before.

The Best and most authentic Sichuan food in PGH. It is now named "Ting's kitchen" with a different owner but the chef and food remained the same and even better!
I love their Sichuan food, especially the "shuizhu" and "ganguo" kinds. It has recently set up a new branch in Squirrel Hill (on Murray Ave) and the menu has greatly expanded since then.
Without a doubt, the best Chinese food north of Pittsburgh. Order off the traditional Chinese menu, not the americanized one for some fantastic and authentic cuisine
This is the best and only place for great Chinese fare. Food is top notch and nothing hold a candle to it. Their Sichuan menu is addictive.
