The street parking was a bit of a challenge, but we made it here. You can do 2 hour parking on the street. The food was okay. The fried tofu with lettuce and peanut sauce had a very interesting texture. The place was very busy.
Excellent restaurant, great food, staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. Its BYOB so feel free to bring a beverage or two and enjoy a great dinner. Food was so fresh and tasty. You can feel the love that goes into making these dishes. Spice level rated 1-10, I went with a 7 for my Sriracha Fried Rice and it was amazing!
Great eatery if you're looking for a new experience. Attached to a convenience store and a small walk in downtown, thai me up has a variety of options offered by a quick and courteous staff. Great place to share with friends and family, don't forget to check the bakery window for a treat after your meal!
I've never been disappointed with any food I've had here!! Tonight we tried some new things! Noodles on Fire, Khao Krapao, Summer Rolls & Pork Gyoza
On a scale of romance novels to documentaries, Thai Me Up is a perfectly romantic spot for people who love to be in the midst of beauty and deliciousness.
The space is thoughtfully laid out with a gorgeous sprawl of plants and creative design elements.
But it's the food that will transport you to delicious bliss. We ordered three appetizers and two entrees with the desire for leftovers, and we barely had leftovers because we enjoyed the meal so much.
Order included:
Pork Belly Buns
Thai Herbal Sausages
a special (carrots and sweet potatoes deep fried)
Padthai
Shrimp Pineapple special
Thai Me Up has street parking, but keep an eye out for paid parking spots. There are plenty of free spaces intermixed with paid parking areas.
My favorite Thai place. Consistently delicious, friendly and - fortunately for me, walking distance😎.
I love the regular menu but recommend always checking the specials of the week.
My new favorite restaurant in the city of Pittsburgh. I eat a vegan diet, and all of the staff is knowledgeable and aware of what menu items are and are not vegan. You can not go wrong with any menu item, everything is fresh and full of flavor in every bite. A few of my favorites are the Sriracha Tofu Fried Rice, Tofu Thai Me Up Rolls, Thai Me Up Fries, Chive Cakes and Dumplings and the Spicy Tofu Fried Rice (all of which are vegan). Noi, the owner, is what really makes this place so special. She is very personable and loves to share her food and culture with everyone. I live 45 minutes from the restaurant, but that will not stop me from going multiple times a week. This is a must-try if you are near the city!
Needed a Monday night dinner spot while in town for work and this was perfect. They had my favorite Green Papaya Salad that was perfectly tangy and spicy (even let me amp it up a bit more when I asked). Their spicy basil noodles were really good as well. Service was excellent and super kind. Will hopefully be back again.
We ordered takeout online a couple weeks ago and it was amazing. Super easy pick up and our order was perfect. We tried ordering online again today and the site wasn't working, so we called in the order; my partner is allergic to peanuts and I forgot to mention it in the call (usually write it in the order notes). They were extremely pleasant when I called back apologizing and letting them know about the nut allergy and they swapped the affected entree ASAP. Thank you so much Thai Me Up!!!
Dear thai me up
I just want to thank you for a wonderful dining experience. I stopped in last week with some friends and we had an excellent time. I had the Thai me up fries and soup and it was excellent. The service was great and we will definitely be back again. oh and I really enjoyed my tea and the bright orange tea pot. See you next time!
