My family and I really enjoyed this place. We dined in and shared a few plates between the 5 of us. The chicken biryani and the chicken tikka masala we ordered were very good, but a little spicy for our youngest. The garlic chicken dish was better for him. We all loved the bread basket. So delicious!
Our server was kind and helpful (we don't typically eat Indian food, so he provided great recommendations), and the restaurant was clean, though not very busy.
We'll come again for sure.
You have to look at all of these reviews appropriately. People who write one review either supporting or not supporting should be ignored. As an Indian person who frequently visits Indian restaurants, I will say that this place is absolutely top tier in terms of its lunch buffet. All of the items were spicy And well-made. They also had several bread options and several rice options including Biryani. Also 4 to 5 dessert options. In terms of overall Indian restaurants this definitely ranks talk to you and did not let the location or external facade for you the place is well worth visiting.
We stumbled upon this place because not many restaurants were open for dine-in. We have found a new favorite! The food was absolutely incredible, with so many options for my omnivore family and my vegan self. The service was incredible and I was so excited to eat out for the first time in months. It was the perfect choice for my birthday celebration. I want to come back tomorrow, but I still have leftovers to enjoy.
Okay....Yummers!! FInally some decent Indian takeout that delivered to downtown Phoenix! Coming from the Bay Area, I've been pretty spoiled with Indian food. We have tried a few different local Indian joints and it's been hit or miss.... but this place is definitely a hit! Food was super tasty and portions were just right. The bread basket was a nice option - the usual favorites. The tandoori chicken and chicken Tikka were both yummy! Will have to make the drive to try the sit down experience one day. Highly recommended trying this resto, if you haven't already. 4 out of 5 because they still used styrofoam containers.
As a foodie, I am always "IN" for trying new places. Since this new restaurant opened last week, I have decided to try this place to try their Weekend Grand lunch buffet.
I was surprised by the number of people showed up today for their lunch buffet. I must appreciate their marketing team for creating the buzz in the valley.
Here are my insights based on my lunch buffet experience
Positives:
1) Food (Very Good). Decent selection of Veg and Non-Veg Options.
Covered all South Indian Dishes and Biryanis.I personally liked Gongura Mutton and Fish Fry.
2) Ambience (Excellent). I really liked the ambiance of the restaurant with all famous old Tollywood and Kollywood movie stars pictures. (see attached pictures for review)
3) Choice of food in Menu.(Good). I looked their menu for a la carte, Impressive.
4) Parking (Good). The restaurant has ample parking place.
5) Service (Good). Staff was friendly and courteous to our requests.
Things to Improve:
Since they have started recently I must give few more weeks for them to settle down and get used to the huge crowd they are receiving now.
I would definitely recommend this place to all Spice Lovers. Will update more after my a la carte dining experience.
This was the closest Indian restaurant to us and we wanted to eat as local as possible. We were the only ones in the dining area (due to covid Probably). The server was helpful in helping us make a choice and the food was quickly served to us. I wondered if the food was frozen before or prepared before because it was so fast. We tried a variety of dishes and each one was super flavorful and priced right.
Tried this new Southern Indian restaurant the other day and it was very good! We ordered delivery, so this review is from the menu, not the buffet. We ordered the Gunter (garlic) Naan, which was the best Naan I have ever had. The Palau Paneer, (homemade cheese pieces in a creamed spinach sauce with spices), Konaseema Royale (Shrimp in a special curry sauce). This dish was SPICY but delicious. Bihari Aloo Gobi, (potato and cauliflower sautéed in a tomato, ginger, garlic, green onion and cumin sauce), Kodi Tandoori, (chicken marinated in yogurt with herbs and tandoori spices, then grilled in an oven). We also had the sweet lime soda, which was not too sweet, and the Mango lassi, which was like a yogurt drink, very refreshing.
We enjoyed everything, but most of this food is SPICY, so you may need to request it less spicy for more sensitive palates.
I ordered the vegetable szechuan style fried rice and the baby corn manchurian. Both of them are very tasty. They serve masala papad on the house with 2 types of chutneys. The papad is spicy and very tasty, green chutney is my favorite. Staff is very friendly too, and the bill was given in a camel pencil box (almost all the 80’s and 90’s kids used to take these to school everyday) which is cute :-) nice ambience too! Overall a nice place to eatout.
The food here is absolutely incredible. The owner and chef go above and beyond to make your dining experience wonderful. They have made recommendations with every visit and always make our family feel welcomed. We have yet to be disappointed. Highly recommended.
Going by Godavari’s franchise reputation in other parts of USA, this one in Phoenix doesn’t disappoint.
Pretty much everything was good. Wish they had dosa for buffet but anyways great food. Will go back.
