We just ran into this this little restaurant. We ordered palak paneer, daal maharani, garlic naan, veggie samosa and kheer. The food was great. The kheer tasted a little dated or stale.
Update: Their food quality has improved tremendously and very delicious! Tried chicken curry, garlic roti, vegetable samosa, daal maharani and vegetable byrianni. The price is steep, which would prevent us from dining their frequently; other than that I would recommend this restaurant to others to try it out.

I love this place the owner is such an awesome guy really cars about the food he puts out and the service. I know it's hard for some being the "lack" of service but it's a small location and like many places it's really hard to find people to work. Every time I have gone here they have treated me great and the food was great even if I have to wait. It's worth it. They do spicy well!. Undoubtedly one my favorite Indian restaurants in the area. The chicken tandoori it fantastic and the lamb is so tender!
Placed a takeout order and our food wasn't quite ready (SHORT WAIT) but we were offered refreshments immediately and enjoyed the atmosphere. Will be coming again strictly for the EXCELLENT customer service we received. Food was made FRESH too. Will be coming here again. It felt so good to support a business like this.
The BEST Indian food in the valley!! 🏆
We have been here a few times but last night really was outstanding! I placed an order to go in person and went next door while we waited. They ran low on lamb so had to replace part of our order with chicken (fine by me!!). The owner was SO apologetic and even threw in a tikka masala for the trouble!! AND gave me a free glass of wine for having to wait an extra few minutes! Amazing staff and food, absolutely a 12/10
All the food was so flavorful and delicious!!! Chicken and lamb was juicy and well spiced. We asked for 7/10 spicy and it was perfect!
Recs: Tikka Masala (SO FIRE), Chicken Korma, Vindaloo, Garlic Naan 😍
Please stop by and support local business!!! Great things take time so be gracious of the wait times, it’s worth it!!
Maybe the best 🇮🇳 food I've ever had. The lamb saag was out of this world. The garlic naan terrific. The chicken pokera excellent. And the Tikka masala sauce perfect. I'd return any day. Taj Majal 🍻 is great too. I highly recommend Star of India. Oh PS, the owners are fantastic people.
From the presentation of the food to the most authentic taste I have experienced in America!! I’ve been to 13 countries and this experience took me like the cartoon Ratatouille back to the very Indian restaurant overseas where I first experienced curry.. Amazing!!
First time at Star of India. I came during lunch, so I decided to try the lunch buffet. Really good variety of meat and vegetarian options. I really enjoyed the The Chickpeas in Marsala and the Chicken Curry and both rices. Tried a mango shake it was super creamy and delicious. Staff was kind an friendly. Restaurant is clean and nice atmosphere. I’ll definitely come back to try something new.
We stopped at the closest Indian food restaurant to us on our way home. I am so glad we stopped! The spicy curry chicken, spicy chicken tikka masala with the amazing rice was delicious. Great appetizers and desserts! I’ll be back!

I have been going to Star of India for years Food has always been consistently good and their service as well. For sure their lunch buffet is the way to go for a quick and inexpensive meal. It costs about $25 for two, tips included. Their buffet has a decent selection of vegetarian dishes (cauliflower (Aloo Gobhi), spinach (Saag paneer), garbanzo beans (Ghana Masala), rice, potato (Aloo Maatter, lentils (Daal Maharni...). Buffet also has lamb, beef and chicken dishes for the carnivores. So there you have it, there is something for everyone. Freshly baked bread (Naan) of your choice is served by your waiter. Of course, buffet also includes fresh greens, tomatoes, onions and more to compose a salad. Lastly, there is a dessert area with pasty balls deep fried in simple syrup (Gulab Jamun) and Rice pudding (Kheer) and complimentary Chai tea. We enjoy Star of India and hope you do too!
Our current favorite for Indian cuisine. We had the shahi paneer and vegetable korma and they were delicious as always.
