I went to Don Jose Mexican Food, and it was delicious! The restaurant had a cozy and friendly vibe. I started with their crispy chips and flavorful salsa, a tasty treat. I ordered their beef tacos for the main course, which were amazing. The meat was tender and well-seasoned, and the toppings were fresh. They also had yummy margaritas to go with the meal. The service was quick, and the staff was attentive. Don Jose is definitely worth a visit if you're in the mood for some tasty Mexican food in a welcoming atmosphere!
Great Mexican food but prices have definitely gone up since new owners have taken over. Chimi DJ style with rice and beans was $22 and cheese enchilada combo with rice and beans is $17
Food is definitely good, salsa is spicier, chimi is deep fried but also cooked enchilada style so it's not the traditional crunch and sauce was really good. Chicken inside tasted a lot like rotisserie chicken but was still very good. Service was great, food came super quick!
Bill was $48 for the two lunch entrees and iced tea
Stopped here for a quick bite before heading to the airport. It’s a very cute place that feels a bit like a diner. We had a very early dinner and were the only table being served at the time of arrival. For being the only table the service was pretty bad. Our server didn’t refill water or check on us promptly considering we were her only table and the food took a long time to come out. They had some to-go orders they were preparing, but nothing that should have delayed the in-dining experience. The queso was grainy… I’m not sure what they put in it but it’s not smooth like traditional queso. It didn’t taste bad, but it is different. Burrito was very good and I liked the shredded chicken in my taco.
We randomly stumbled across this place after being over on this side of town to meet a friend. We stopped in to grab a quick bite and had a cheese quesadilla with green chiles, spinach enchilada with queso and a cheese enchilada. All the food was pretty good and the service was really good! I love the sort of dive bar feel with the Christmas lights. They said it used to be an ihop and has been in business for almost 50 years! Pretty wild.
Food was amazing! Ordered Chilequiles (sp?) with a side of bacon to TRY and replicates Migas :) . Aside from the mismatch floor tiles, old school (original?) wood paneling, xmas lights, and classic rock music, the atmosphere was decent. Almost $20 was a bit steep just for one plate of food with no drink.
Tex-mex level up, achievement unlock! Get to Don Jose's!!
Get a 7.50 house margarita and 4 street tacos featuring machaca shredded beef and enjoy. The kitchen takes great pride in their food- the refried beans alone were worth the trip- layered flavors of onion, garlic, and pepper, creamy and decadent. Get a side of guacamole, bc it will blow your mind!
Hands down one of the best Mexican food spots we've ever had the pleasure of dining with!
This place has been a family favorite of my husband's for decades and I can see why. The food was delicious and came out fast. The staff were friendly and attentive. We were probably in there for around 30 minutes total. Will definitely be back!
I love Mexican food and this was very tasty place to go. Waitress was very nice and pleasant.....so was everyone there. I ordered the steak Fajitas 😋 they were delicious. I come to the Phoenix area a few times a year, I can't believe I haven't come across this place before but I'll definitely come back on future trips.
My coworkers & I come here often for our Friday lunch as we always enjoy the food. As a Mexican woman, I can honestly say that their food is up to par & I'd highly recommend it.
Fantastic, classic Mexican food! The shrimp and steak fajitas were delicious and the orange rice and beans were on point! My husband really enjoyed the shredded beef taco, chicken enchilada, and bean tostada combo. They are CASH ONLY, but definitely recommend! This is our new go-to for Mexican food.
