Calzone hits the spot
From the moment we entered to the moment we exited, we were charmed by the friendly service and excellent atmosphere. The hostess greeted us cheerfully and found us a table right away. Drink orders taken right away as well as our order for a couple calzones by the down home and friendly waitress. Food came out in about ten minutes and was sooo gooood! The crust was buttery and smoky and just took the calzones to the next level. Will be back for sure.
This was a place we stumbled on looking for condos. Lucky for us as it was a great place to have lunch. We had the Salsiccia Di Pollo Pizza and it was delicious. Service was great and facilities were clean and updated. We shall return. 😊😊😊😊😊
Good neighborhood pizza spot. Great spinach pizza as well as other choices. Also have some of the best GF crust I have had. A bit pricy though.
Great pizza. Stopped by for lunch. Quick and friendly service, and great tasting pizza. Build one in Tucson.
Coldest beer in the valley. Have been a repeat customer at the Ahwatukee location. Excellent service every time I've eaten there. Their sandwiches are among the best I've eaten since moving to Arizona. The pizza is on the sweet side, but as with the sandwiches, it is the best I've had in the Valley (and I've eaten at dozens of so-called "excellent" pizza joints). Entrees are equally good, and specials change with the days of the week. If you haven't tried it yet, check it out. If you like your pizza in a traditional style, and not some weird health food type of crust or toppings, You'll be glad you did.
Yummy!!. I love this place! I have had the pasta and pizza and both are really good! They are also very friendly and the speed of the service is good. We will definitely go back often.
We recently held a party for close family and friends after our son's baptism. We liked how flexibly we could order more food as needed. The service was excellent.
Thanks Alison Reed and team.
Awesome pizza. Without a doubt, this place has the very best Margherita pizza in town. Each time we've been there, the service has been great and the food is always excellent. Though the wait can be daunting at times given the day (weekends, mainly), it's never that bad.
Spinato's has a number of other excellent choice from which to choose and a nice compliment of drinks to accompany any meal. Nothing ever wrong with a cold Stella Artois or a glass of wine to top off your dinner, that's for sure.
We will continue to return to Spinato's time and again as we've never once encountered an issue as some people may have. Either it's luck... or some of them are embellishing a wee bit. Go in and see for yourself. I doubt you'll be disappointed.
Friendly and fresh. We finally made it down the street to Spinato's and it is our new favorite casual Italian place. The staff are uniformly friendly and the food is very fresh and tasty.
The scootchi balli was irresistible at the Saturday special price of $4. The menu reveals that it is based on Jim Beam Red Stag. I asked the bartender what else is in it and she told me that if she told me, she would have to kill me. Delivered with a nice smile - great touch. :)
(UPDATE: the scootchi balli is no longer on the drink menu)
The only knock is that the Caesar salad was mediocre. Judi and I agreed that it wasn't very Caesar-y and we will try a different starter next time.
The chicken presto pesto pizza was outstanding! They make their own pesto sauce, starting by plucking fresh basil leaves. That attention to detail is evident in the best-smelling and freshest-tasting pizza ever. It is an authentic old-school Chicago pizza with thin crust cut in squares. I know it's a great crust when Judi eats all of hers.
The server could not convince the next table to try the cannoli but I was persuaded. A great cannoli is my favorite dessert, although I had almost forgotten why I loved it so much after many years of being served indifferent attempts. I warned the staff that I have high standards for cannoli. They told me they weren't worried. My comment to the staff after devouring it: "This is what cannoli should be." It doesn't get any better - just the right texture and not too sweet.
Needless to say, we will be back and will recommend it to our friends.
Amazing customer service.
8-18-23 First time here It wasn't busy so hard to see how service was in a rush but Drew was great! The boneless wings (happy hour) were perfect and the Chicago calzone was really good! I did prefer the marinara sauce that came with the cheesy bread over the au juis but both were good. The personal pizza with 2 extra toppings was still 9.30 so not too bad.. we will be back for sure!
If you haven't heard of Spinato's, you've been missing out. Amazing Italian food made with the freshest ingredients, and extremely warm and friendly staff, and a very pristine environment. I got the Super Six pizza as seen in my photo. So Damn Delicious!
Cool Pizza Place, great atmostphere and friendly staff. The Sicilian Style pizza was very good. My kids loved the small cheese pizza as well.
I go to Spinato's every so often with my family. Usually I get pizza but today I ended up going with a sandwich. The Da Vinci sandwich, with pasta salad and a glass of Pinot Noir. Everything was soooo good. Definitely found my go-to!
Great Italian food! Salad was fresh and just the right amount of dressing. The Happy Hour half size portion was still big. My husband’s Chicken Parmesan was perfect. The chicken was not greasy or over fried, done just enough to taste how good the chicken was. He loves the sauce and had every drop of sauce. I had Nicole’s favorite pizza- again, just perfect! The crust was thin, but not too thin. All the toppings tasted fresh. Definitely bringing our friends to this place!
Great place with a nice atmosphere. A family friendly restaurant but it also has a bar area with tvs, if that is more your style.
The pizza is good but the marinara is sweet and my family are more savory fans so that caught us off guard.
The meatball sandwich is part of the clean plate club haha. Very good.
The wait staff was very friendly and attentive.
Just a great place to sit, relax, and enjoy great food. The service was over the top good. The price (with cocktails recommended by our server) was pleasant. The quality and quantity were sufficient. If there is any knock albeit a very soft one, the sauce was a little sweet. I will definitely go back and try other option menus.
01/12/2023. 7 of us went to Spinato’s for happy hour yesterday. There was no waiting which was nice as we arrived about 4:45. The service was very good and we were not rushed to order. There was a real mixture of dishes ordered. Greek, Caesar, 🍓 Gorgonzola salads, pizzas and spaghetti. Sine it was happy hour the portions were not the regular size but we had no complaints about the size. The food was tasty and served hot. When we left the restaurant was starting to get busy about 6:15.
The only thing that was very disappointing is that when you pay via credit card they take your card and do not have a POS machine brought to your table. For me this is NOT GOOD! I view this as a BIG security risk to the diner. I am not accusing Spinato’s of doing something fraudulent but there is an opportunity. I must take part of the blame for this happening as I wasn’t paying attention when my card was taken for payment.
TIP: NEVER let your credit card out of your sight.
This has been a family favorite for years. It’s a great location with a comfortable more upscale vibe. The pizza is amazing. They have some standard pizzas and many original and tasty choices. The Chicken Presto Pesto is sublime. The pastas and salads are well sized portions and equally good. The service is friendly and accommodating and you never feel rushed. Any true pizza lover will enjoy Spinato’s.
Excellent Italian Beef sandwich with hot giardiniera, a big cup of au jus, and a delicious field green salad. The Spaghetti Calzone was very good, as was the Strawberry Gorgonzola salad and small pizza.
Would definitely come again!
