First time ordering from this place and it was not bad at all!! Especially because they are actually opened on Sundays. Everything was very tasteful, I’m big on flavors. The only reason why im giving this business a 4 Star rating is, because the chicken tasted like it was made the day before & the mac & cheese could be a little cheesier. Besides that, it was great. Probably would go back again due to the GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE! Great job K&J.
One of the best Caribbean Food Spots in the city, this place is humble but clean. The food is always delicious and the portions are more than generous. I can typically get two meals out of a small platter of Jerk with two sides.
The first picture was the first time I went there the next picture was the second time I went there the first time the food was seasoned very well the young lady was very nice and pleasant at the window I really enjoyed that experience the second time I went the food wasn't really seasoned that much I didn't get as many oxtails as I would have liked and the lady behind the counter was a little short abrasive maybe she had a bad day I may go back and a couple weeks or so. All in all I did enjoy the food I seasoned my food a little more the second time.
I have been going to K&J for about 5 years now and I’m rarely disappointed. Their platters range from about $8-$15 (depending on meat and platter size); they also offer lunch platter discounts too.
I go primarily for the curried goat, plantains, veggie patties, and fried dumplings. They have a good selection of desserts available also; I recommend the sweet potato cheesecake if you want a suggestion. Do know that some things do run out faster than others, so give them a call if you’re going around lunch or rush hour times.
Stop in and give them a try...you won’t know if you like it until you do. Be warned, if you plan to use your credit/debit cards, you will need to also present your ID, and there is a $10 minimum.
Pretty good flavors and generous portions. No eye to eye service. But polite. No carrot juice. No ginger beer. No butter beans in the ox tails. Red snapper was small and overcooked. Curry chicken had too many bones. But tasty.
I love this place! When I want oxtails, this is the place to go. I am never disappointed. The food is good and the portions are large. I always get 2-3 meals out of a large platter (depends on how hungry I am 😆). The pic is less than half of my platter.
Lisa was awesome! She was very kind and very efficient. Yesterday was our first time at this establishment. I am a true foodie and absolutely enjoyed the food. Definitely will return.
Thank you for providing a warm space for my family to dine!!
All of the food is so delicious and the Owner is so kindhearted.
Delicious and VERY hospitable! I brought 7 Platters tonight and they were perfect! Celebrating Yom Kippur! 🙏🙏🎉🎇🎉🎇💖💖
I'm really glad the whole island of Jamaica decided to move from the Caribbean to Germantown Philly, because the food tasted and presented as if it was directly from Jamaica.
It was my first time going here, and it will not be my last.
I ordered to take out, but then ended up eating in the front outside area of the restaurant.
I got Dumplings, White Rice, BBQ Chicken, and Green Beans - Medium Size.
The amount of food is really good. In fact - it was too much food - in a good way.
You definitely get your $$ worth in proportion to the food size you get.
They take cash or credit.
You can sit outside and eat - right in front of the restaurant - you just have to open the little switch latch to the gate - to walk through and sit down.
When you're done eating outside, the trash can is right inside at the front entrance for easy convenience.
Owner was really friendly. Helped me order through the menu since it was my first time.
Highly recommend if you are really hungry. Zero disappointment.
