Frida Cantina is a small and very adorable Mexican restaurant in south Philadelphia. The restaurant was decorated very nicely and it was very clean. The atmosphere of the restaurant was beautiful, but chairs were very very uncomfortable. They looked very authentic, but you can’t sit very long.
I shared tinga de pollo quesadilla and suadero taco with my friend. Quesadilla was very tasty, but we both didn’t like taco that much. Main course he had camarones al ajillo and I had camarones al chipotle. Each of them came with rice and house salad. They were very delicious and perfectly cooked. House salad was very fresh too.
The service was great and all of the servers were very polite and friendly. The prices were very reasonable. They have an amazing drink menu too.
Best cantina in Philadelphia. Talk with Sofia they will take great care of you! After my 1st day, I stopped by 5 days in a row following.
Went with a friend for a nosh. Place is very nice, authentically Mexican (not Americanized Mexican) and professionally managed. The night we went was close to 9pm and the bartender served our table. Food was bussed out in record timing, all staff were pleasant and accommodating (my first time to that place and was impressed with the service quality, staff dedication and professionalism, and overall design aesthetic sent me right to the heart of Mexico with my gauchos and sombrero
This place is amazing! Never disappointed! Food is spectacular and the drinks are delicious! They are always friendly and helpful and its visually stimulating!
Still coming here, foods still awesome, especially the burritos!Nice ambience, super friendly service/ bartender, drinks were GREAT, food was delicious!! Surely recommend if you're in the area!
Went here on my birthday for Saint Patrick's Day. It was shockingly packed! I ordered the pico de gallo and chips for an app. There was 3 of us. The pico de gallo was so fresh!! I got the picadillo burrito. It was pork & the pineapple. It was ok. I've have the shrimp dinner before that comes with salad & that was better. I got the Rosita drink. It's Hornitos tequila, pomegranate juice, lime juice, & agave. It was really good & all 3 of us got that. I also tried to the rosemary-grapefruit tamarind drink special but I liked the Rosita better. That drink was very strong but also good. It's my 2nd time there & I'll be back! Oh, & the decor was nice!! I took pics.
My wife and I stopped in after a concert, as we have friends that live nearby that suggested it. We had a marvelous experience there! Unfortunately, we didn't make it before the kitchen closed, but Jose made us some fabulous beverages!
Delicious food. Lovely atmosphere. Friendly staff. Good prices. Full bar with tasty cocktails. Clean.
Great atmosphere and great service go a long way. But when you add amazing food to the mix then the experience becomes unforgettable! I love this place! It is top two for me for authentic Mexican food, and the other place is right across the street from them. Would come back 100 times.
Adorable, small Mexican restaurant in the city. They were very busy so food took a little bit of time, but atmosphere was nice. Food was hot, fresh and delicious.
