The best rye bread! I used to go to this as a kid years and years ago.
I love the knishes and dark bread. The pasties are also very good.
This is my family’s favorite bakery for fresh rye and pumpernickel. Every holiday we order fresh baked rolls like kipple,challah and onion. You can get great service as well. The prices are awesome too!
Kaplan’s has wonderful baked goods and incredible prices too. The staff is always so friendly and sweet. But the best part is how the neighborhood smells like fresh baked goods. Love this place
I recently added their multi grain bread to my list of favorite breads from Kaplan's. Toasted with butter, it's really good or for any kind of sandwich you like to make... delicious!
11/28/23…Kaplan’s challah bread makes excellent French toast!
We have been purchasing Kaplan's rye and challah bread for a long time. It's really good. We use the rye bread for all kinds of sandwiches. The challah bread makes excellent French toast. Recently, my husband brought home the best chocolate crumb cake. Delicious!
Visited for the first time and picked up cherry cheese danish. It was EXCELLENT! I came back the next week and just as delicious as the first. Also the staff were super friendly. I highly recommend them!
Giving a 5 star because the bagels are fantastic! I did get a Danish that was pretty dry and possibly not fresh. Overall would recommend. Very cool historic bakery.
Wonderful having lots of bagel options in Philly these days but we like Kaplans the best. (Just not a huge fan of Montreal style)

I have the best memories of this place. It's a neighborhood staple from the old days and still fits into the new gentrified neighborhood vibe. Plus their baked goods are really good
