I loved this place so much. Me and my cousins came in and they immediately tried to squeeze us in. The service was amazing just took a bit to get the food. It’s completely understandable though with how packed this place gets! The atmosphere is great with friendly people, games on, and lots of great decor. Overall great place and 5/5 stars.

Food was great! Sausage rolls and fries were fantastic. Beer was on the warm side and the service was slow. Seemed liked only 2 waitresses for all of the outside tables. Inside was shoulder to shoulder so they may have just been overwhelmed. We definitely would return, within walking distance from Eastern State Penitentiary.

The Fish sandwich here is a tasty, crispy, bigger than the bun tavern experience paired with fresh house-cut fries. Good beer selection and watch the big games especially soccer here.

Best Fish and chips I've probably ever had. Fish IS fresh! It was so soft and succulent; perfect, crispy batter. Skin-on, hand-cut chips were also delicious. They provided genuine, British Heinz malt vinegar too! It was better than the last fish and chips I had in England in 2010. I actually wanted to get photos of the chips but I was so balled over by how authentic and delectable the fish was, I just tucked in! I paid $25 with a modest tip. A little pricey by my standards but worth every penny. I sat at the bar and had great service, even got to chat with a couple of real Irishmen. They took Google pay which is always more convenient. With the number of pubs in the area it must be some feit to edge ahead of the competition, but Black Taxi is ahead by far. Don't miss this if you're visiting Philly.

Obsessed they had sausage rolls here! I’m from England and missed those delicious snack rolls and this was the closest thing to them! My friends got the HIGHLY recommended Philly Cheesesteak. I tried a bite and it was definitely delicious and filling (lol). Service was awesome and so was the atmosphere. I’ll be back again when visiting Philly 💛

Friendly staff and a great spot to watch some football. Good selection of draft and cans and really solid food that I can go out of my way to get. Irish breakfast and chicken cheesesteak are some of the highlights.

Vegetarian perspective A go-to in Fairmount! Great place to hang with friends. Solid vegetarian options: Curry fries, brussel sprouts with cheese sauce, roasted red pepper wrap are all favorites. Great cocktail menu too and of course all the British beers/ciders.

Great Irish pub. Guinness half and half beers are fire. They have many options. Black velvet is the best. And their crab fries are 🔥

WARNING: Charges 4% extra on bill if you use a credit card. Otherwise is a decent neighborhood pub. Had very good shepherds pie. Requested a medium rare burger, but got a well done one. The regular fries were well seasoned and crispy.

I'm going to proclaim Black Taxi Best Fish and Chips 2023. They pulled out what had to be a 12-14 oz hunk of cod, battered like a champ and served it on way too many shoestrings.
