Really lively atmosphere with a wide range of choices on the menu. The highlights were definitely the mushroom truffle pizza and chocolate peanut butter cake. The cake had pieces of crunchy peanuts folded inside the cream which added a nice fun texture to each bite. Our server was great, food came relatively quickly. My only disappointment was the rib eye which was a bit tough and the brownie sundae which was 90% whipped cream. Aside from that, it was a memorable dinner.
Such a hidden gem, literally. Nestled below a restaurant, you would never know it was there. Venture downstairs, once in the restaurant, for a speakeasy vibe and wonderful craft cocktails, with equally awesome service. And, in case you were looking for some activities, you will get some enjoyment out their 2-lane bowling alley. We enjoyed every drink and every second here.
Met some friends from out of town and decided to try the tasting menu at Harp & Crown. It was absolutely a fabulous experience. The food was cooked perfectly, many options worked for all types of diets and tastes at our table.
You can choose the items you want from the tasting menu, or you can have the chef choose. We decided to pick our options since we wanted to make sure all 4 of us could enjoy it.
The tasting menu was priced extremely reasonably and the portions were generous. I tried things that I normally would not have and I think it was a great opportunity to try any different options.
We enjoyed it greatly and would come back to the city to enjoy it again.
This place is AMAZING!!!! The service was exceptional from the moment we walked in the door. We got to our reservation an hour early so we decided to sit at the bar. Ordered 5 drinks and an appetizer for like $40 which is pretty good. When it was time to be seated we got the cutest table in the back of the restaurant. Our server was great... we ordered the mushroom truffle pizza, mac and cheese, and the ribeye for two. Very affordable options and delicious. I highly recommend "Harp & Crown.
Our party of 6 showed up to the Harp and Crown on a Monday night - and were seated promptly. But from what I understand, we got a bit lucky with that. If you can, plan ahead and make a reservation. The outside is very unassuming - but inside is something else entirely. There are really high ceilings and a very eclectic feel to the entire place. The menu is relatively short - but everything we ordered, we shared - and each were excellent. There's a decent selection of beer, lots of wines, and a full bar for cocktails (a number on their menu, but they encourage you to ask for anything not seen on the menu). Staff are very professional and knowledgeable regarding their menus; they were all very friendly and attentive as well. After dinner, head downstairs to check out the other bar and the two lane bowling alley!
This dining experience, prompted by an enticing promotion via AMEX and Resy, has solidified its status as my preferred restaurant in the city. The tasting menu delivers noteworthy portions, with standouts such as the cheesesteak egg roll, shrimp & lobster toast, mushroom toast, beets, and halibut receiving my resounding endorsement. Unfortunately, the chicken dumplings fell short, lacking the desired seasoning.
My enthusiasm is tempered by a delayed seating, as i showed up early for my 9pm reservation; however, was not seated until 9:35 pm. Additionally, despite reserving the dining room, I found myself in the garden area. Addressing these concerns—particularly adherence to reservation times and seating a time limit to how long a party can stay at a table—would elevate this establishment’s appeal. While not meriting a flawless rating, the culinary prowess remains a compelling draw.
We had a rehearsal dinner downstairs in the Speakeasy. Beautiful, unique atmosphere with a staff that is extremely eager to please. Cocktails were made by talented bartenders and were absolutely delicious. Most of the food was delicious. The pizza was just okay. Crab balls, chicken sliders, and prime rib were all excellent. Bowling alley adds to the experience. Loved this hidden jem.
Stopped in for their weekend brunch. A huge selection of breakfast and lunch offerings. Roast beef carving station, fresh omelet station, mac and cheese, sausage gravy and biscuits, fruit, top your own doughnuts, sushi, shrimp, sandwiches, cookies pastries so so much. Everything was delicious. Service was great.
I really like this place. Have returned a few times. All the appetisers I’ve had have been fantastic. This time it was the time to try the ribs… and they were sublime. The beers are always good here, including this delicious Pilsner. So why only 4 stars. I had the main course steak, and while good, it was not great. So whilst I’ll return again, it’ll be for a number of apps next time, including the pork ribs and lamb meatballs, but I’ll not be bothering with the steak again
This place was insanely good, we did the chef tasting with 2 of us. The portion sizes were very large we took home a whole bowl of pasta, a pizza, Brussels sprouts etc. but the food and cocktails were all very good. Shrimp lobster toast and heirloom salad were 10/10, chef let us do shrimp& lobster for an up charge since it’s not actually apart of the chef tasting menu
