Pumpkin continues to be an under-appreciate gem of the neighborhood. As we’ve come to expect, we enjoyed another beautiful and delicious meal there last night. I had the chilled corn soup with peppercorn Chantilly. While it could have used a tiny bit of salt, it was so tasty I couldn’t stop eating it. I spread some of the Chantilly cream on bread - yum!!! My spouse had the white asparagus with yuzu. I got a taste and understood why I only got a taste; it was bright and crisp - Summer on a plate. She had the strip steak, cooked ideally with wonderful kale and shallots, and I the wahoo with arugula. Both were beautifully seasoned and cooked - would happily eat either again right now! Had to take out desserts to go - olive oil cake with yogurt and strawberries for me, chocolate tort for her - as we were too full. Expect as the summer gets going and I feel even less like cooking we will be hitting them up for their amazing value Tues - Thurs Chef’s Dinners - can’t wait!
The food was delicious and the service was great! Would go back!
Good food, good service. Calling the outdoor seating "heated" feels like a lie. They do have heaters, but I was in my jacket and hood up and still freezing. If you wanna visit, wait for an inside table.
Pumpkin is such a great spot! My friend and I had a lovely experience there. The food and atmosphere are so nice. The service was very good! The food was excellent. A perfect fall evening. We will definitely be back!
We went for restaurant week and had a great experience. I had the beet salad and my husband had shrimp escabeche. Both were very tasty with great flavor. My husband had the Zucca pasta with lentils, he doesn’t even like lentils but the flavor was so great he loved it. I had the salmon and it was perfect with a great sauce. We both had the chocolate torte and it was the best desert I have had in a long time. I will dream about this dessert. We were nervous to try this place because the menu looked to gourmet for my husband. We loved every bite.
Just went back to pumpkin after many years. The food is inventive, incredibly delicious and beautiful to look at. I was pretty blown away that this little gem still exists a couple blocks from my house. Will make a point of going more frequently!
PHENOMENAL. That’s an understatement for this sustainable farmer and fisherman oriented restaurant. This is like food from a tv show contest. The chefs are showcasing their skills and pushing the limits of flavors to impress. Basil on a fish dish and they make it work well. Try this out. Great date spot. Usually $50 for a 3 course daily changing menu.
The food was SO, SO GOOD! My boyfriend and I came for date night and we were totally blown away by how delicious everything was. The service was also excellent and the atmosphere was perfectly intimate for date night.
We’ve eaten at a lot of the best places in Philly and NYC...I have to say this is one of our favorites. I can normally pick apart dishes but the menu hit the right note every time. The quail was exquisite, perfectly cooked. Great sear on the monkfish. I normally don’t care about dessert much but both we tried were amazing. Check this place out if you haven’t already. Such a cool BYOB!
Amazing restaurant week menu, everything was a great serving size and brought a great new different taste to the table.
