We've been 3 times over the past 4-5 years. always for special occasions. Every time we eat here, we have something I just can't forget. This time, it was the pasta. We also got the chicken again. My husband tells everyone it's the best he's ever had. The various rooms have different vibes. I enjoyed watching the kitchen staff downstairs, but I could see someone being disappointed about being seated here. It doesn't have the warm ambiance of the upstairs dining room. The expansion next door is a bit different as well. Warm and relaxed for sure, but again, a step down from the main dining room. That room feels more like your typical byob. That being said, the food is artistically conceived, expertly executed, and typically delivered with a warm smile and patient, precise service. This is probably my favorite restaurant in the city. Also, the two of us had 3 courses plus dessert and a round of drinks, and with tip, it was around $305. At the risk of sounding out of touch, for this level of food, it's not insanely expensive.
Vegetarian perspective
I still dream about the corn ravioli! I could have eaten a giant bowl of them...Got a lot of vegetarian options on the menu to split and was happy to see that there were a good amount of options. Only feedback I have is about the artichoke. I love getting whole artichoke when in California and this was the first time I've seen it on a menu here, so decided to try it. I won't get it again from here, it was boiled and just kind of blah. Everything else was so yummy though, including dessert!

Food Ordered: Dayboat Scallop Crudo, Crispy Potatoes, Grilled Black Sea Bass, Bison Strip Loin, Peanut Butter Semifreddo Sandwich
Drinks Ordered: Here for a Good Time (Not a Long Time), Six More Weeks of Winter
Food was fantastic. The dessert was INSANE. Drinks were not the best. Date vibes.
Went on 4/5/2023
Excellent food! The pictures are showing sea urchin scramble egg, scallops on toast burg super fresh! Fire roasted prawns and crab spicy spaghetti are small plates,
All good to share and we wrapped up and roasted half chicken, so juicy that comes with some
Roasted vegetables. The only slight criticism is we had a long lag waiting for the final two dishes to
come. Definitely share and eat more!
We visited Vernick for a birthday dinner and had an excellent experience. The restaurant itself is very cute and cozy, with both a bar downstairs and a seating area upstairs. We sat at a table upstairs, and chose the tasting menu for the evening. We did make a reservation ahead of time for the occasion, and our menus were customized for the birthday celebration. Our server Madison was incredibly warm, friendly, and helpful, without being overbearing or overwhelming. She worked around us and our conversations, and had a wonderful demeanor. We were too busy enjoying the meal and conversation to take any photos, but the food was appropriately portioned, courses were timed to perfection, and the the dishes were delicious. We were even treated to a few extra goodies for dessert. The service was amazing, and Madison even had the chef sign a menu for the birthday boy. Overall, a wonderful meal - definitely worth visiting.

Awesome food and service. From the amuse bouche to the bourbon chocolate ice cream desert it was amazing flavors. A definitely comeback to restaurant. Worth the hype and price.
I’ve heard many good things about this restaurant, and I was excited to try it.
The reservation was easy to make on a weekday. We ordered a few appetizers that were fresh and well prepared. The presentation of the food was beautiful.
One thing I didn’t like is that the food selection is limited, but drink menu is bigger than the food menu. Also, they use arctic char instead of salmon for the crudo. For such a nice restaurant like this, I think it would be nice if they don’t substitute the cheaper version of salmon.
It’s a great place to open a bottle of wine with friends and share some delicious food. If you like good wine and nice ambiance, this is your place :)
The food is so delicious! Service was excellent, and the vibe was very fun. I enjoyed the entire meal.
Outstanding restaurant with creative dishes and flavors. The mushrooms with eggplant and lavender are a must try! I discovered today that I need more crab broth in my life because the halibut with asparagus and morels in crab broth was perfect! The banana, peanut butter, dark chocolate ice cream cone dessert is not to be missed.
It's been a few years since enjoying the great hospitality of Vernick Food and Drink and the current team did not disappoint. The tenderloin tartar, smoked salmon toast, sea urchin and off menu special of soft shell crab truly delightful. For mains ‐ Bison strip, sea bass with fried crispy potatoes, grilled asparagus, roasted carrots. Still as spectacular as the first time over 5 years ago. Well done Chef!
