Different rice bowl options, you can get beef, chicken, curry, seafood, or a combo of those. They also have extras you could add like egg or takoyaki, and all the pickled ginger you want. Very clean, service is quick, my order came out in under 5 minutes. Three different sizes, I got a medium mapo tofu beef bowl and melon soda. the tofu was very soft and had the flavor of the sauce in the tofu, not just covered, and the beef was very thinly cut, shabu-shabu style; very soft and very flavorful. The portion felt a bit big for me, next time I'll get the small bowl.
Delicious! self-serve picked ginger & cucumber goes well with fluffy rice- heavenly 😍Generous portions priced for families with hungry kids. We tried the beef, shrimp, chicken, gyozas & udons. It reminds me of eateries in Tokyo.
I recently went to Japan and LOVED the food. After I returned to Hawaii I started searching for Japanese food that was like it was in Japan. This place is legitimately Japanese food and tastes amazing. The staff is fast and always friendly. I love this place, highly recommend!
Definitely a place to try if you are in Pearl City. They seem very authentic Japanese with even the workers who have a heavy Japanese accent.
There are quite a few favorites that are starred in the menu. I must admit it’s pretty good and the portions are generous.
I had the Ontama Beef Bowl with and extra egg. I’m not sure how to discount the egg except it’s soft on the outside with the yolk cooked and slightly firm on the inside.
Based on the crowd inside, it’s frequented by Asians who travel from places like Japan as they were all speaking Japanese when I sat down.

No need to buy a drink, there's free water (dine in only). The guy behind the counter was very nice too.
Parking can suck a bit, depending on the time of day you go.
They also give discounts for military and students too!

Beef rice bowl with an egg is so delicious. They are always quick. Always see lots of people getting to go orders when we eat here.
First time at eatery & with the 1st taste of my order, I knew we'd be returning.
Parking can be limited being lot is shared with other businesses, but dont let it deter you from going to this place.
Upon entry, it was quite noticeable eatery took COVID-19 precautions seriously with hand sanitizers available & every other table set up for dine-in (50% capacity).
Stepping in, you'll see an easy to read up close menu as well as the larger menu board above cashier. Although dining in, food are all in disposable containers along with any condiments & utensils placed in a plastic bag.
I ordered their beef curry udon whereas my daughter ordered beef curry rice bowl with 3 pcs of takoyaki on the side. We comfortably sat in one of their booths taking in the aroma of our orders and savoring the tastes.
A great place when you are craving a hot, filling, and affordable beef rice bowl. The people that work there actually can speak Japanese and have consistently great service!
The food is good but the only thing is that whenever I wait for my food they don't call me to say my food is ready. I literally have to look everytime to see if my food is ready. The food is good though.
Since the dining room is closed, i got two bowls to go. Mapo tofu beef and egg teri chicken which both are popular items as marked on menu. There's option for brown rice, which is a plus. The mapo tofu bowl was delicious. Teri chicken on the other hand tasted plain and very generic. Chicken was dry. Not very tasty. For $11-12 per bowl (m size) , i dont think they're worth the price.
Definitely one of the better quick bite restaurants on Oahu. Food is great and the price is very reasonable. Place is clean and organized. Self service so no tips required. Newspapers and manga available. Senior, students, and military discounts.
Beef bowl in Hawaii! The restaurant is very Japanese, and located in a busy shopping center. The beef bowl is delicious, and I got it very quickly. Interestingly, they have a small selection of manga you can read while you wait. One of the older ones was "Dragonball" which I glanced over. At least that manga is in English, but otherwise in the typical Japanese right to left format. Back to the food, they have beef, chicken, curry, and tempura. You eat in the restaurant or get it to go.
