You wouldn't know from my rating how picky I am. I had met people from the restaurant and then I looked it up and sounded pretty good. My best friend and I went there tonight and were just amazed at everything. Perfect decor, fun but not trite, everyone was friendly and helpful. The food was not only cooked to perfection with very unique and well-balanced flavors but was beautifully presented as well. We splurged and had a drink, the meal, AND dessert, which we don't usually do. Definitely try this place out.
The food is incredible. Very high quality chef prepared Mexican food... Thought prepared dishes. The owner was very friendly and spoke to us for a while. His personality is reflected in the quality of the dishes he serves. It is clear that he cares. Definitely a new favorite stop of ours! Highly recommended. Especially if you appreciate finer, (more authentic), traditional style dishes.

The food is an experience in true Oaxaca cuisine and it is exceptional!!! If you are accustomed to Americanized Mexican food, this may not be the place for you, but sooooooo recommend the experience regardless!!! The chef is an artist who creates masterpieces of taste! The mole sauce is unique and incredible! The chicken was the most tender I’ve ever had. We have already cancelled our Friday reservations to be able to eat here again! The serving staff was great but very busy. We were happy to wait. This family owned restaurant is sooooo fabulous!! Thank you for your artistry.
Great food, albeit pricey. Inattentive waitress; she did not return to our table and did not tell us about specials. (Her time was spent socializing at the bar.) You have to pay for the chips and salsa, and there is a fee for credit card use.
OMG, the food is sublimely delicious! We had seven people and a child so made a reservation at 4:30. It was great because the chef had time to talk with us while he did prep work. Del Campo veggie enchiladas and mole enchiladas were especially tasty. Chef comped us two orders of street corn which is fabulous. Also love their salsa which is wonderfully garlicky! We got one of each dessert, the tres leches was fantastic, and chef comped our little one vanilla ice cream 😋😍
Always a great experience! We went there again this past weekend (9/29/23). Start off with the "made at the table guacamole", it is a must. Great drinks, delicious food! I had the puntas de filete with plantains, rice and beans - it was unbelievable. There were 4 of us. All 4 plates were fully devoured!

Carnitas were excellent. Unfortunately, my wife had the last chili rellenos available and one was ok and the other needed some help. I would try them again based on the rest of our food. After ordering we heard about the specials. We will go back and make sure we ask of any specials.
If you really want some authentic Mexican flavor with all the extra taste bud excitement... This is the place you want to eat. You will not be disappointed with any choice you make from the menu and specials. Everything you put in your mouth is a flavor experience you have never had!!
My husband and I are from NC visiting Pawley’s island for a few days. First time eating at Sol Cocina and highly recommend! The food was delicious and the atmosphere and service was excellent!
