Excellent meal! Fresh shrimp and scallops. Exquisite bar. Perfect Manhattan and wine. Service was superb by a friendly owner and staff. One of the best seafood dinners I have ever eaten.
We have been going for the Haddock Sandwich for years. It is hands down the best haddock (mild, flaky, white fish) I've ever eaten. Friendly waitstaff and you blink twice, the server puts a hot fish plate down! Try it, bet you'll love it like like we locals do!
Great food and service, their lobster roll is delicious. Other friends had grilled seafood platters, and they loved it.
Nice bar, good atmosphere. I went for the whole belly clams, admit they are hard to find in SC. The clams were good but could be great with a little more batter and fried more crispy. For 6oz of clams they charged me $30. My next craving will take me to Joe Loves!
Update: I went back and had the whole belly clams with more batter and crispy they were great! Priced at $29 for 6oz.
Very much worth the trip to Captain John's.
We had the seafood combo which consisted of whitefish, Shrimp and scallops. We also had a fried oyster sandwich with dirty rice and we also had a Philly cheesecake sand.

Tonight was our 3rd time enjoying the food at Captain John's. I had the grilled haddock and it was FRESH and very delicious. Their salads are super fresh and the homemade ranch is soooo good. My husband had a grilled shrimp salad. He really enjoyed it. We arrived at 8p (they close at 9p), and though they were busy, Mary did a fantastic job serving us. We look forward to eating here again next year.
Wow! I am new to the world of seafood so I asked for something mild and the haddock was perfection. It came with a lemon pepper seasoning and I chose rice as my side. It was delicious. Our server, Mark, was very charming and on the ball! His host friend was very educated on the menu and helpful. 10/10 recommend!
It was good just off a little bit. I was very surprised because this is where me and my family love to eat when we come down there. Crab legs was cold still had ice on them kids playing over the food and adults grabbing food with they hands and eating at the bar. Wish someone would patrol the bar area. Not speaking bad on them we all have a bad day will try again next time.
Loved our meals!! Lobster roll,fries. I had crab cake with grilled shrimp and scallops . Delicious!! Mary was most accommodating! Very enjoyable!! See you again soon!! ❣️❣️

I enjoyed the seafood platter (grilled) with grilled vegetables and it was amazing. Very flavorful and perfectly cooked. The staff is also really friendly and provided great service for our table. It's a must stop by cozy place to have a good cooked fillable meal.
Captain John’s is a favorite in Pawley’s! We are frequent diners when we are in town, and always pleased. Tonight my husband and I each had the same dishes we had last night! Yes! We came back for the second night in a row. I had the lemon pepper chicken and it was fantastic! My husband ordered the tuna, and it was also superb! Props to the chef! And the highlight…our server and bartender, Kyle is extraordinary at his job! He makes dining at the bar a pleasure! We will continue to patronize Captain John’s and you should too!
