Ordering takes a minute. We had Breakfast. Delicious food brought right to the table, quickly and served family style. Nice, smiling, wonderful wait staff makes it all the better! What a great concept!
We love this place. The staff is friendly. The atmosphere is one of a kind and the food is incredible. If you leave hungry, that is your fault, not theirs!
We decided to have breakfast here while visiting family that has a lake home in Osage, MN.
It was just over a 30 minute drive and well worth it! There was plenty of parking available, including handicap parking.
We entered the gift shop to pay for our breakfast, only $13.00 per person. What a fun gift shop, so many cool things to look at. We knew we would be stopping back, on our way out, to buy some treasures to take home with us.
We then left the gift shop to walk to the Cook Shanty (where we ate). The tables were all set up with red & white checkered table cloths, each place setting was a tin plate, tin coffee cup, glasses for juice/milk & silverware. The benches you sit on were cut logs & it felt like you were a logger grabbing a bite to eat.
The decor had funny signs, as if you are a logger. Displays of carved wooden figures, old canned foods, cookware, oil lamps etc. It was very quaint!
Our server was all smiles & explained how to order, as all food is served family style. You order how many eggs you want (soft or scrambled), you get one hashbrown (which is a huge portion), sides of pancakes, ham & sausage are all you can eat and you were served coffee & could also have orange juice and/or milk.
The entire staff, including the gift shop staff, were friendly, helpful and seemed to enjoy what they do. We felt welcomed!!
There was also a fun play area for children if there is a wait to be seated. The area is outside & will keep them entertained.
The food was hot and delicious!! They also have dinner and we will definitely come back for that on our next trip.
This is a unique dining experience and one your whole family will enjoy.
We stopped at the gift shop and made several purchases on our way out. Such a great time had by all and we were so full!! 😊
Memorial Day 2021 - emerging from covid, Back for the full experience. Looks like there is more outdoor seating. All the same great food and fun experience.
Five stars for for the fun experience! The food is plentiful and good. Family style; hash browns and eggs up front and unlimited meat and beverage refills. The grounds are an old logging camp with a blacksmith shed and old steam tractor and log saw. These historical displays are in need of some maintenance but still interesting. The property is beautiful with some trails and a lazy stream as a highlight. Gift shop has the typical up north trinkets.
Took my grandson and the food was excellent and the staff friendly. My grandson enjoyed it too. Stopped in again this morning with my daughter and we had a lovely time. Missed the molasses cookies we've been waiting since last year for but have been assured they'll be back by Father's Day
This is one of the few places in Park Rapids that has the best food in town. Have been here 2 years and never knew it was there. If your here to visit its a must on your list
First time visit. Food and good service for Lumberjack breakfast were abundant. Will be back next visit to Minnesota. Open for breakfast till 11am. Dinner is served from 1pm till closing. While the great food is the main attraction, the open air museum gives visitors a glimpse into the past timber harvesting operations in Minnesota.
Food was good, server was good. Kids had fun looking at all the outdoor things.
We loved this place breakfast was good giftshop was abundant of useless treasures my kids adored!
I've gone here to eat breakfast many times. Always great food and experience. Love walking around the grounds after the meal to enjoy the scenery. They have a souvenir shop to purchase goods as well.
