The food was amazing!!! All workers and security were on point and extremely helpful!!!! Music was amazing!!!! My kids enjoyed the games and rides round 2 here we come!
I've been a vendor for 35 years and I love everything about the fair. The energy and commitment that is put into this beautiful fair makes it worth every dollar it costs to come in. There are so many free exhibits and if you take the time to really explore the fair, you will find treasures everywhere.
Experienced the Ice Maze at the Alaska state fair grounds today and it was tons of fun! It was impressive the amount of work it took to create this! We really enjoyed the lights and the music in the ice. This is a great family activity and worth going to for sure. It’s unfortunately expensive for big families, Adults 13$ and kids 10$ and you get through it quick but it’s definitely worth doing!
Very nice fair. I've been to many fairs and this one has more unique items than I have ever seen. The people are friendly. Food prices are not super inflated, a bit, but not much. A lot of outdoor shopping but great things inside as well. My amazing purchase was the Global Frequency bracelet. It really took my pain away. They give free samples to try it first and there was no pressure, unlike other places there, and it was nice.
First, let me start by saying I am not a Fair loving girl. Yep, I admitted it. But I must say, I totally had a great time at this fair. Would I go there again.... I have to say I probably would. Clean, beautiful fair grounds. Surprisingly, really good food. Yes. They had the standard fried fair food, but we found the spinach bread truck which was outstanding and hubby found a gourmet Reubens sandwich stand which he said was amazing. We hit the Billy Idol concert which was super fun, and the seller stands had some awesome artists. Great day at the fair!

What a fairgrounds! Amazing views and venues and vendors, all. Even though it's abundantly crowded, one still manages to find a way through and a place to sit when needed. Lots of benches and tables and pavilions. Some good shaded spots too. I also noted that there are so many big garbage cans; I never saw a full one, and never saw trash on the ground. You'll find at least one of everything you could hope to see in Alaska as far as homegrown representation. We didn't go on any rides, but the setup seems impressive and is definitely a classic sample of rides you'd expect to find. A favorite event for us to catch when we visit at this time of year. How nice to have had an expanded offering of days this year (2021), but we did miss animals and agriculture displays for coming the earlier weekend. But still so much to do to have a wonderful day!
You will end up spending a lot of money here, however, great place to support local vendors. I was a bit worried for them with how crowded it got this year and barely anyone wearing face protection during the pandemic. Huge shout out to families and people who still put themselves at risk to help support themselves and their families. Food is always delicious there. Parking is a bit of a hassle, BUT buy your tickets online and show the staff your passes on your phone. Saves you a lot of time and waiting. Will continue to go to the fair. Wish there were more gluten free meal options
First time we went to visit all the booths and enjoy a little fair food as well as do some early Christmas gift shopping a week ago. We went back last night just for the Billy Idol concert and had a great time.
I'm impressed with the amount of people there. I had a blast with plenty of food. Lots of entertainment and the best date ever. Wrestling matches where misspelled but still awesome to watch. And a few good laughs at some of the signage.
Lots of new vendors, food booths and rides! This was very exciting news to find out, that our beautiful state fair was booming after not being open last season. We had so much fun!
