Classic American chop house with a wonderful menu. I enjoyed the rack of lamb; it was prepared exactly as I ordered it, not over or under done. They make a fried chicken dish that is amazing. For dessert I had a lemon cream pie that tasted like a small slice of heaven. The pours for the cocktails are generous and the conversation with other patrons at the bar made my time here even more enjoyable. I will return and I suggest that you come check it out!
The place was fine, drinks were okay, service was terse but very capable. The food was all right, but for the price, I'd have hoped for something more special. All in all, I'd go here again for a fancy dinner if I was stuck in Orinda, but for a 200$ meal for 5 I'd likely prefer somewhere else.
We met up with another couple for dinner this past Wed. We were seated in a quiet corner, so it was easy to catch up with each other. We each ordered a different meal and everyone said their food was done to perfection. Our server was spot on with his timing. We will definitely make a return visit to Casa Orinda for a "Date Night" in the near future.
Greeted by the valet with a smile and "how are you tonight?" Surprised me as I pulled in the grab a spot and he happily opened the door for us. Entered into a low lit atmosphere, friendly staff, low music playing a slow jazz in the background while images of cowboys grace the walls, cattle brands on the table and brass tealight "oil" lamps adorn the tables. The flavors explode from the perfectly cooked chicken in an amazing sauce as the waiter asked how things were.
The food was simply amazing. Heavenly even.. Large portions where one plate would feed the two of us but happily taking home some left overs. The price reflects the larger portions as well. But we will be back to this hidden Orinda gem of a place to try the fried chicken 🍗

The Casa is so comfortable, just like being at home, in your own 'casa'. Very kind at reception. Great valet. Generous cocktails. When you order two courses both seem to come together.
Food was solidly okay, a bit overpriced. Paid quite a lot for the ravioli and got 4 ravioli on my plate. Whole meal. Wow. Tasted meh.
Service was excellent and is the reason for the high stars.
We hadn't been to Casa Orinda in about 20 years! The service, food, and ambiance were wonderful. We recommend it for a delightful date night!
