The name is suspiciously misleading: there’s far more happening here than just pastrami and bagels. Ansel’s is a Super Bowl of flavor, options and value.
Parking is a hassle but you’re in Blackstone and it’s not Ansel’s fault until they’re Mayor.
Heard they had a mean pastrami sandwich... And... It was so good I kinda feel like swearing. That's because parking is crazy in the area and I am not sure how often I will be able to get it again. Well worth the price and effort!
Great little sandwich shop in the Blackstone District. Located in the old Noli's Pizza location. I had the Pastrami sandwich on marble rye. Comes with chips and a delicious pickle. The BEST pastrami sandwich in town! Salads look awesome. Try the Poppyseed dressing, an old family recipe. Meatball sandwich I was told was very good. Thanks Joel for the awesomeness!
Had the Ansel's take on the Reuben, the pastrami is amazing well worth the fight for parking! The staff was friendly definitely my new favorite place for a pastrami sandwich!
Had the breakfast sandwich on an everything bagel. Came with my wife and newborn son. Service was fast and good, lunch time wasn’t too busy. Food was really good and pastrami was great as well.
Amazing. Easily the best pastrami that I've had in Omaha. I can't wait to go back and try the bagels!
A must try for Blackstone! I had the Ansel's Reuben and it was one of the best Reuben's I've had. Although not on the traditional marbled rye, the Ansel roll that it came on was delicious!
Great bagels, and the jalapeno cream cheese was fantastic. The pastrami is on point. One of best takes on a Reuben in Omaha. They do need to improve their online ordering system, as it had a sandwich that I ordered that is no longer on their menu. They were more than willing to swap it out with another sandwich when I got there.
Sandwich was fantastic! I'd read an article about how they prepare the pastrami over a 2 week period and wanted to give it a shot and it was as good as I'd hoped. I think they make the bread there (though not certain) but it was still fresh. Highly recommended.
Crazy good food, had the pastrami on rye and deli salad. A little pricey ($13.60 with no drink, before tip), but a good portion of food. My only major gripe with our visit was, from the time we ordered to the time we got our sandwiches was 37 minutes. An extremely long time for a sandwich, and disappointing for a restaurant that's only open for lunch service. The food was excellent, but the service time kind of rules it out as a lunch spot for most working people.
