Love this place! It has my favorite atmosphere in OKC with the quasi-indoor/outdoor seating areas. The food is Gucci. At the counter, you can order salads, bowls or tacos. Think about if a Chipotle took pride in the ingredients they used and played good music in the lobby. (They also have vegan options available for those who decide to tread that kind of path.)
Sitting at the bar, you can order apps and tacos, or ask for the drink menu to peruse the in depth selection of wine, spirits and craft beer. (Along with the Marg/Pacifico happy hour) The patio is pooch friendly and Dakota at the bar is always friendly.
In conclusion, this place is the tits, 10/10 would recommend to anyone.
Phenomenal! We the chicken mole taco, pork carnita & carne asada street tacos with chips, queso & Salsa. Everything is made in house....even the corn tortillas which in my opinion is a must have! Farm fresh ingredients blend to create a unique twist on Mexican food. As someone is working to eliminate processed foods from my diet...I’ll definitely be back when we’re in the city to eat at Cultivar again.
This place was sooooo good!! The food was so fresh! My carne asada was perfectly seasoned and so tender. The margaritas were on point! They were on the small side but they were strong and delicious. This is definitely going to be a new favorite!
Cultivar Mexican Kitchen’s sign in Automobile Alley boasts the words “Farm to Fire” and once you step inside you’ll find what that reality means. It almost seems like you’re in an old farmhouse hipped up somewhat but also the baskets of produce you see behind the counter makes you think of farm-fresh.
Great service, food and atmosphere! The fresh vegetables and healthy choices are perfect. Salads are large and always fresh. The Pork Carnitas bowl with pineapples, fresh avocado and corn tortillas is excellent!
Had a carnasada bowl with cilantro rice, black beans, jalepenos, pico, cheese, mushrooms, sour cream and guacamole. Was very good. Enjoyed the Fire habnero hot sause. Wow did it have kick. All in all I enjoyed the meal.
This place is so good. It is like chipotle on steroids. (But healthy, made with great ingredients steroids 😜). I was introduced to Cultivar by a friend in the restaurant industry and she never steers me wrong so I was excited to try it. I get the build your own bowl for myself with a side of their house made corn tortillas. I also order a side of guac, salsa and chips AND the chorizo potatoes are a must too so I can share with friends. (I usually have to get a doggy bag) they have unique tacos like Ox Tail that I've been told are outrageous. Everything is so fresh and delicious. It is located in Automobile Alley downtown and the vibe and design inside is very cool. They have a patio, they serve Native Roots sodas. I highly recommend it as a lunch spot or a casual dinner spot.
OKLAHOMA CITY – “Just good honest food.” That’s how the owners Gary Goldman and Chef Dean James Max describe the locally-minded and ethically-presented food sold at the recently-opened Cultivar Mexican Kitchen at 714 N. Broadway along OKC’s Automobile Alley. Well, I’m sold when it comes to “good honest food.” So is my Red Dirt Report colleague Sarah Hussain, who is also usually looking for fresh, healthy and delicious food made locally.
We visited Cultivar on Cinco de Mayo so it was expected it'd be busy and it certainly was! The concept is similar to Qdoba or Chipotle where you build your meal. They do have a more extensive menu with other options. When you sit down you just have a cocktail server, they don't deal at all with food. In fact, she took the word cocktail so seriously that she wouldn't even bring me a water with my margarita, but instructed me I'd have to wait in the food line. There was a couple there who appeared to be owners and they were fabulous, engaged and working away. Our cocktail server was frantic the entire time and came off as rude. The location and atmosphere is great! The guacamole, salsa & queso were delicious! I'm eager to try again when it's just a typical night and they have some kinks worked out. Also, not the biggest fan of being asked to clear my table at a sit down restaurant. Especially if I can't even get a simple glass of water.
Must go again! When you walk in you have the option of ordering from the "make your own" line or the cash register if it's something listed on the menu. We got there at 10:55am and there was already a line out front. We ordered the chips & queso, rotisserie chicken quesadilla and cheeseburger taco. All very good. Order the bowl or handcrafted salad, they looked delicious!!!!!!!! I will be going back. This is definitely a trendy place, prepare to be impressed.
Little pricey in my opinion, however, the food is delicious. Sauces on the table in the bottles are really good; fire sauce is my favorite.
Rotisserie Chicken is fall of the bone tender and has lots of flavor.
Ordering process is a little confusing initially, but if you have here couple of times you’ll be good.
The food tasted amazing. Wish we had this place in Tulsa! The have fresh food chipotle style build your own tacos and burritos. And yes also salads.
Modern hipster atmosphere. Friendly staff. Cheap prices. Cheap prices for this fresh of food.
Oh my gosh this place has so many options build your own Taco, Burrito, or Bowls. The Chips & White Queso has just the right amount of seasoninh on the chips and I queso I will put it on everything... When the temperature warms up this place will be pack
It's just so good! I love it's all made fresh to order and it just taste like you're making the right choice lol. The bbq wings were my absolute favorite🤤
Really amazing atmosphere. The Huevos Ranchero with rotisserie chicken was fantastic. Very friendly staff. I love locally owned small businesses! A must visit...
Like a high end qdoba or chipotle. The atmosphere is very nice. The flavor is pretty good, I find it’s kinda easy to end up with a dry burrito and a lot of their ingredients are safely seasoned so it can be a little on the bland side. If you order a burrito I recommend paying the extra to get a side of queso
As a valet in a luxurious hotel downtown OKC, I take pride in being able to provide our guests recommendations of venues wether entertainment or restaurants. However, I take a personal approach as I like to do so from personal experience.
Without further a due; Why Cultivar? Because it is delicious food and good for the soul! They take pride in their fresh from the farm to the kitchen approach to the Mexican menu. If you’re a fan of Taco Bell; this is not for your tastebuds as they shall forever be spoiled with deliciousness!
In my experience, Sean the bartender offered a refreshment while mentioning it was happy hour. I was served a Pacifico beer with a lime and salt around glass edge(like margaritas) which was a new twist for me as far a beer drinking. I must add that I am not a lover of the beer bitter after taste and because of that I tread lightly with beers. The salt on the glass made a good beer smooth and just pure joy!
Lest not forget Ryan, one of the managers who kindly and quickly shared their menu with me no sooner than I had ordered my refreshment and requested the menu. I ordered a carne asada bowl with white cilantro rice, pico de gallo, borracho beans and last but not least their magnificent stout queso! In my humble opinion, the best queso in town!
Did I mentioned they shared chips with fresh (so amazingly delicious) guacamole??
I must finalize my rant by answering your basic question. Is it good? No it is not good!!!
It is fantastic, deliciously fresh Mexican food that leaves you feeling satisfied and without the traditional “heaviness” a good Mexican meal could leave you with after such indulging!!!
What can I say; you wont be disappointed!!
The food was fresh and the staff helpful and polite. The atmosphere is nice, if loud at lunch time.
Their burrito bowls are amazing as are their quesadillas, steak or chicken. And their bar selection is incredible.
The tacos were delicious and the drinks are strong, will definitely be returning! Get the cinnamon tequila shots, they're like fireball but better.
