The food was very fresh, everything was presented with care and professionalism. I think the chef is making a good effort and maintaining an excellent level. I returned to the restaurant after 6 years, and I think it is better. 🔴crab cake not available in mine anymore
Pleasant restaurant that resembles a steak house but then for fish. There is a nice terrace in front. Noisy unfortunately as next to a busy road. Food was good. The tuna burger, which got great reviews and the waitress praised as ‘to die for’, could not live up to my elevated expectations. It tasted a bit flattish.

9/2023 update. I had previously highly recommended the tuna burger which I can no longer do. I have been twice in the past 30 days and the tuna burger has turned into a bland shadow of its former self. So it’s off my list of favorites.
That said, Gulf Stream is still solid 5-stars and the trout is now my shining star on the menu. Although the rotisserie chicken, and possibly more so, the couscous side dish, were also wonderful as well. The level of professionalism from the minute you walk in the door until you leave is top notch and the quality of the food is wonderful. Just a big miss on the tuna burger these days.
previous posts: i go to Gulfstream frequently and wish I could give it a fresh review every time. Because each and every time I’ve been… it’s been 5 stars - and that kind of consistency should be noted.great food. chopped salad, steak and lemon meringue pie are always winners. biscuits to die for (i dip in hot sauce mixed with honey - try it before just say NO! -)) drinks are small and pricey, i recommend wine. Updating my review to add rainbow trout as a must at Gulf Stream. Simply fantastic

The food is So Dang good!!! The atmosphere is impeccable. The service is either STELLAR or pretentious. So sad when you get a rude server. They are either the best servers ever... personable and Sweet... or you get a totally pretentious jerk that treats you like you're annoying for asking for the simplest of changes. Like we get it, the chefs are great... but if we want to modify a dish to have a different side dish than the one listed on the menu... Make it Happen... don't make the customer feel awkward for asking for the easiest of substitutions. What's even funnier is if you ask the shift leader for a substitution they will say ABSOLUTELY NO PROBLEM... but different servers say different things... by the way the substitution we asked for was literally switching out fries for a veggie side dish... they probably cost the same amount. So please don't make the customer feel guilty for asking. Anyways... they know how to cook and their time standards are Impeccable. Literally the timing of getting orders out to the guests are so good it makes other restaurants seem slow as a snail. Consistency is what keeps people coming back. Don't let some servers be inconsistent or you will lose valuable repeat customers... no one wants to hear different things from different servers.
One of my absolute all time favorite Restaurants. Really classy atmosphere and service, great architecture and setting. We visit Newport very frequently and almost always make this our first stop, for Lunch. Best biscuits ever, my wife always orders 6, and we take some with us. Love the Chopped Vegetable Salad w/Seared Ahi, is beautiful, healthy and tasty. Burgers are fantastic, high quality and cooked to perfection. Excellent selection of Wines, love the Mi Sueno Red Blend. No corking fee as long as label you bring in is not on their Wine List.
All of the service staff are amazing, friendly, kind, gracious and professional, just an extremely well run establishment.
Love this place.
My best place to have salmon and seafood.. it’s not my first time .. I really like gulf stream food so fresh and tasty .. i love the atmosphere and the panoramic views will definitely come back again and again ♥️
Woow the mustard BBQ beef rib is delicious!
The kale salad is also very yummy.

You have to try their signature biscuits WITH honey! They’re excellent! Hot, fresh and fluffy on the inside.
I LOVE their New Orleans BBQ shrimp dish! So good! But it is on the sweet side. I would lower the sugar amount by a pinch or two.
The Newport Beach clam chowder is good too. But the 2nd time I had it, it wasn’t hot enough and seemed a little salty.
I was not impressed by their margarita. But the staff and clientele are pretty friendly all around.
My wife heard about Gulfstream…and we went. WORTH.THE.WAIT!!! We didn’t have a reservation. Definitely going back!
