Burger Walla

Burger Walla is a great place in Newark if you're craving for tasty burgers in a low budget. I ordered their Veggie burger which tasted well. 

They also serve a variety of snacks and drinks and the service is good, too. Totally recommended if you're looking for Indian snacks.

When I order a veggie burger from a restaurant, I know I could be setting myself up for a disappointing MorningStar veggie patty. I didn't get that kind of vibe from Burger Walla, so I took the chance and ordered a Walla Veggie, which was super tasty and clearly made in-house. I also got Sweet Potato Tots (they were ok) and a Strawberry Lassi (I could drink a gallon of this in one sitting, so good). Overall I was very happy with my food and would absolutely order it all again.

A huge complaint with Burger Walla is the service, unfortunately. I went during normal lunch hours and it was busy, which I expected. However, I waited more than an hour for my food (seems excessive), and as I was waiting had to listen to the cooking staff argue with one another continuously about the order of the tickets. It was really awkward, but hopefully was just a hectic day and not the normal atmosphere. I'll give it another shot.

This place is a gem! We came here because our initial plan of eating at tribos periperi fell through when they were suddenly closed on Saturday (maps said it was open). I had heard of Indian inspired burgers and fried chicken before in Manhattan, so we decided to try this place out. The place has 1 table by the window, then a bar with some chairs along the counter, and finally an area with several more tables. You order at the counter, they'll ask your name, so I thought it was self pick-up, but in our case they brought the food to us. We weren't sure what sauce to use on the chicken wings so we asked about the masala and the walla, as those two sounded the most special/distinct. They let us taste the sauces and we went with the walla, it's super good! They didn't take long to prepare our lamb burger, beef burger (medium cooked 👌) and our chicken wings, along with a side order of fries and a side order of sweet potato tots. The burgers were delicious, juicy but not too messy, with a very nicely cooked thin patty full of flavor. The fries and tots were both incredible too, couldn't stop eating them! The tots are more interesting, but I do prefer the fries because well made fries are always the best side. The chicken wings were small but packed with flavor (we also did get 7 instead of 6, probably because of the size? Or maybe they were just that nice). I only tried one because my husband is the one that loves wings the most, but I really enjoyed this one too! Service was great! I expected it to be more self service, but they were very involved and made sure to explain what needed to be explained, and to ask about our meal. I'm not doing great at explaining, so I'll let the photos speak for themselves!

Where do I begin? Oh yea, that was the BEST lamb burger, I have taste thus far👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 OMG I definitely recommend going. My only regret is that I didn't have time to go back before we left NJ! My picky children loved their food, which was a juicy impossible burger, crispy buffalo wings, and did i mention them sweet potato tots.🔥🔥🔥 The staff was very friendly and professional, the chef was such a gentleman and down to earth, I'm bad with remembering names however if I may, I'm going to call him "Chef bless hands"!!! The atmosphere was peaceful, very clean and organized place. My ONLY pause was the bathroom, PLEASE redecorate!!! Smh

Delicious! Amazing, distinctive burger joint hidden away behind the Prudential building. They push their lamb burger and chicken burger for good reason. Great flavor, perfect toppings on the lamb burger (goat cheese, spicy pickles). Do yourself a favor and get the sweet potato tots as a side with the honey mustard dipping sauce. My dining partner had a design your own simple cheeseburger with the beef blend and cheddar cheese and his only comment was, "Amazing." Regular fries alongside were perfect as well. Strong recommend.

One of my favorite burger places in Jersey! The burgers and fries are always on point but I have to give the vegan options a HUGE shout-out because they have became my favorite option from Burger Walla; more specifically the Samosa Burger. Perfect salty sweet combo (don't even get me started on those pickles) and if you get the combo there's always more than enough fries to share or save for later! (Sorry my photos are trash I was ready to take a bite lol)
