10.95$ lunch buffet. Till 3pm on weekdays. Eat as much as you can,Vegetarian Kosher Indian cuisine. Freshly cooked and different menu every day. I just love this place on 28th at Lexington. Keep on returning and recommending.
Really enjoyed our Indian meal with a great variety of dishes which were suggested by the Maitre de . He was very attentive and didn't encourage us to over order as I have experienced in other establishments.
Eating out in NYC can be very expensive but the bill at the end of our substantial meal was surprisingly affordable. Highly recommended.
The joy of eating Dosa in NYC, and that too a pretty darn good one, is incomparable.
We ordered the South Indian Thali, and got a variety of stuff- Masala Dosa, Idli, Wada, Sambar, Chutney and Halwa. The pakoras were not that great (oily, and lacked flavour)
The service was quick, and food was piping hot! All in all a good bet.
Everything was delicious - we ordered Samosas, Masala Dosa, Palak Paneer... all with interesting flavors. I've had a lot of Palak (Saag) Paneer at various Indian restaurants, and it's usually more or less the same flavor, with little variance. But this was different. The had an interesting (in a good way) mix of spices, new to me... definitely looking forward to future visits. Good prices and super-friendly service too.
Good feeling place. And good food. I think it is the most pleasant settings I've been to on curry hill.
The idli vadas were good.
The sambhar tasted good.
The service was good.
It was expensive. I guess it's the feeling of what they make you feel when you are there is why it's worth it.
I would give 5 stars to this restaurant..!! Itz my fourth time I am visiting this restaurant in my second trip to U.S. I love the dosas over here.. The service is remarkable.. Must visit if u like South Indian food..!!
Really happy with this place. Went after work one night because I'd heard great things and we were not disappointed. My wife had the Matar Paneer which had a nice depth of flavor and I had the Kadhai Paneer Masala (one of my favorite Indian dishes) which was easily our favorite of the night. I couldn't get over the beautiful flavors that bathed the paneer. Along side these dishes we ordered Chapati and to drink had a 1947 beer and probably one of the best mango lassis I've ever had.
I try to be objective about delicious meals after a long day, but I feel like this place will hold up anytime I decide to go. I also love finding great vegetarian places like this to add to our repertoire of meatless meal options.
Great Vegetarian spot for Indian food lovers. The buffet was delicious and the choices were amazing. Great service as well especially during the lunch rush. However having a microwave positioned behind a buffet stand is very sketchy. The place also had a very low rate decor and ambiance, which made it look dingy.
Wonderful lunch spot if you are looking to get your money's worth! Tiffin Wallah offers a lunch buffet for just around $9 a person! Coming there I had never eaten India food before but I can honestly say I am hooked! My personal favorite was their coconut thyme sauce that was perfectly light and sweet!
I had an excellent Punjabi paneer off of their menu called Palak Paneer. It was a wonderful dish of creamed spinach and cheese with fragrant basmati rice with slivers of almonds and cilantro. This was heaven. I had a mango lassi. I went with the sweet version this time. I have had the salty and frankly I prefer it.
The waitstaff was excellent and very friendly. I think they could tell I needed help on the choices in the menu but didn't steer me in one direction or another.
Great food at great prices.
