Brunch Prix Fixe Review:
Food: 4/4
Drink: 3/4
Ambiance: 2/4
Service: 3/4
Value: 4/4
Summary: Although I had my reservations entering the restaurant (it looked a tad old…), Paname proved to be a delicious brunch experience with amazing financial value - $26 for 3 courses and a glass of sparkling wine / mimosa. A neighborhood institution that has regular patrons, it’s a must for anyone in the area looking for a French afternoon. Would I come back? Yes!
Food: Delicious and lots of it! My three courses included the Pate Maison, the Pork Scaloppini, and the Apple Tarte. All were delicious and large portioned. I couldn’t finish everything!
Drink: I had a mimosa, which was satisfying, nothing to write home about.
Ambience: The restaurant on the outside looks a little tired, but once you enter you get the feeling you are in a neighborhood restaurant. Nothing sceney about it, but it’s well-appointed and taken care of.
Service: Service was quick, and food came out in sufficient time. Our waitress gave some recommendations and checked on us regularly.
Value: $26 for 3 courses and a glass of sparkling wine / mimosa. Not bad at all!
This restaurant was such a pleasant find. The presentation is gorgeous, the food is good, the portions are good, and they have a surprisingly large selection for their fix price menu. The desert isn't quite what I'd expect from a French restaurant not I it was good regardless. The service was also just perfect. It's just the relaxing homey atmosphere I like in a restaurant. I can't wait to try their brunch.
Full disclosure: I stopped in only for desert. I was told by a friend they have great deserts, so I popped in for a quick sweet treat. Since it is a French restaurant I ordered the crepe desert. It was inedible - three soggy, tough and chewy crepes, so I returned it. (I was not charged for it and they were sincerely apologetic.) I then chose the sorbet desert and it was wonderful, including presentation-wise. Service with a smile by polite and agreeable staff.
Group of 8 went to lunch on a Wednesday in November. Very quiet place although it's smack in the middle of all that bridge traffic on 2nd avenue. Had the escargots appetizer, and the tilapia for main course. Food was great, and so was the service.
Paname Restaurant is a frequent favorite of ours in Midtown East. Chef Bernard brings a piece of Paris to NYC in this cute Brasserie / Bistro setting featuring delicate, tasty fish, great steaks, decadent duck - artfully presented, healthy cooking, this is a nouvelle take on classic French cuisine. The desserts are not to be missed!
We like a lot going out. Last night we went to this magnificent restaurant which we didn’t know before. We enjoyed a delightful experience there with excellent dishes and an experienced team and a talented chef. We put this fine restaurant in our phone list and we shall definitely come back very soon. Highly recommended.
This place is the one I like best. I visit a lot of restaurants but here I go the most. The crew is very helpful and the food they offer is so flavorful. I never decline to have a good dinner in this place. Highly recommended.
I had an amazing experience at Paname! I recommend selecting the three course meal option from the menu, which appeared to offer a variety of appetizers, entrees and desserts, for most every palette/diet. The service was high quality - dishes were prepared perfectly and presented with unique style; the server was friendly and attentive to all of her tables and treated each guest as a VIP. I especially adored the unexpected items that came out as compliments of the house. When I visit NYC again, I'll be sure to return with more patrons.
