I've never been to Paris but this is how I imagine Paris' patisseries to smell like. Every morning, there is a buttery fragrance wafting from their kitchen luring slumberous customers in. Their heavenly pastries, delectable coffee and flaky croissants (one of the best I've had) is a krytonic combo. With limited seating in the rear, enjoying coffee and pastries is definitely a delight here.
Nice quiet patisserie on Spring St. Lots of pastry and dessert choices - the croissants are actually quite good here and definitely recommended. There's some (limited) seating in the back area. Good place to take a moment and enjoy a cup of coffee.
The plain croissant was delicious. So were the accompanying coffee and tea.
However, the chocolate and almond croissant were kind of sub-par at 6.00 PM. Not sure what "Serious Eats" was raving about. You can find good plain croissants at just about every decent bakery every two blocks in NYC.
Pleasant enough... but would not return.
Cute place. If you want to sit in, you would have to go towards the back. The place is pretty tiny, but it has a charm to it. You can either pay first at the front or just order from the table. They're flexible, but you have to pay at the front after you eat.
I had the apple tart. Yummy. It was obvious there was a lot of butter in that crust. So good.. But the apple was a bit too sour.
Overall, cute lil place. I have to come back and try the full cafe experience with a drink next time.
I didn't want to buy the cakes since it was somewhat pricey. Next time...when I am loaded or have something to celebrate I will try it!
The pastries here are all freshly made and are the best! My usual is the Chocolate Croissant and they are delish! I also will get the Brie Bagel Stick which is also amazing. I love these guys.
