The food here is extraordinary for the price. While not the most spacious place, the food is the best Indian food that I have had anywhere, except maybe India. The meats were tender and well seasoned using fresh ingredients which made the dishes ‘pop’. The service was swift and pleasant. And, a very good value!
A cool place to be on a working afternoon serves one of the finest Indian food in West Village. Though they lack space for accommodating more people, they surely have a quick service. And they have a vast range of Indian delicacies. I ended up having Palak Paneer, while my friend tasted a Butter Chicken Platter. We both enjoyed our meals, and it was indeed an excellent experience.
PS: Masala Chai stole the show towards the end.
Small cozy place in the busy streets of Mac Dougal. Went there with my boyfriend, slightly pricier than the other restaurants, but totally worth it. Mutton rOgan josh is a must!!
Visit for some amazing indian food..the biryani was really really good and so was the chicken samosa..
Also try the paneer tikka here..
Worth a visit
A cosy restaurant, with great Indian food. Try thr aloo tiki chaat, you get one piece but it is crisp, warm, and surrounded with Chana (which for some reason were cold). The chicken saag and palak paneer were delicious, and enough to share with others. The vegetable biryani was with overcooked rice, and very mild flavors so you should skip it. The Naan were warm and soft, must order. Service is excellent.
Food is the highlight. We ordered veg thali, samosa chat, chicken starters, dal tadka. And everything was delicious. The host is very warm.
My favorite local Indian spot! Service is great, food is delicious. Delivery is also quick, and food arrived hot. They have a great lunch special too. Prices are fair, especially given the large portions. I can often get two meals out of one entree! Definitely give it a try! Chana masala, palak paneer, veggie samosa, aloo Gobi and garlic naan are my favorites. Oh, and many great vegetarian options too!
Fabulous good food. We got the Restaurant Week special, palak paneer and chicken vindaloo. Perfect naan bread. Some of the best Indian food I've had in NYC.
Delicious food! The portions are also huge so I get two filling meals out of it, which makes it a great deal. Probably one of the best Indian restaurants I’ve tried in NYC (and I’ve tried a good amount).
Really enjoyed eating there with my friends. Food was decently priced, service was great, food arrived really quick. They had a dish called vindaloo sauce which made my friend and I happy as we enjoyed spicy food but ordered everything mild for our other friends who don't. Add the vindaloo sauce and it kicks it up a notch....Or two
Had Lunch on 11/25/23 we ordered Tandoori platter which had Chicken Minced and Tikka Kababs Lamb minced and boti Kabab Nan Rice and Dal Tadka. Also as an appetizer Chicken 65. All the Kababs were tender juicy and tasty except the Lamb boti Kabab which was very hard. The food tasted good. Service was nice.
This is one of my favorite restaurants serving authentic Indian food that has a home cooked taste, with delicious spices and flavors.
Generous portions and delightful presentations. The staff are polite and professional.
One of the few Indian restaurants in New York that I liked. It’s not the best I’ve had in my life — but at least I return to it from time to time.
The masala dosa filling is excellent although the Rosa skin could be made more crispy and seasoned better.
The navrattan korma is 4/5.
Kashmiri naan is excellent: a solid 5/5.
Given the dearth of good Indian restaurants in Manhattan I’ve given this a marginal 5.
Great food, fair prices and a very large menu. The have South Indian and Northern Indian cuisine. Authentic dosa, Sharma and curries. This is easily a top 5 Indian restaurant in New York City 🗽 🏙 There is only seating for 18 and its in the heart of McDougal St so getting in will be hard. Service is a bit amateurish but for a casual restaurant it is acceptable. But this is starred as a favorite of mine.
