My son got married at The House and I cannot say enough about how wonderful everything and everyone was. They made sure the bar area on the first floor was empty for the ceremony, and we had the upstairs for the bride prior to the ceremony and a private dinner after. The host/manager, Adrian, was wonderful. The staff was also wonderful. And I cannot say enough about the food. Whether my guests had the soup or salad, cod, burger, chicken or lasagna, everyone raves about the taste, quality, portion size. I had the lasagna and can personally tell you it was amazing! Desserts were the same. The selection of wine and beer was exceptional. We were 25 people, and those who live in the city said they’d be back. That should say it all. Highly recommend The House!!
First time here. Came to celebrate my friend's 50th birthday celebration! It was a group of us..We were greeted by a kind and beautiful staff...Service was personal and professional. The food was amazing! Started with appetizers.. Delish...Then moved on to main courses. The waiter suggested the short ribs of beef. .Outstanding! The wine was divine. The manager was gorgeous! Sending her an early birthday shout out!! I will recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to have a romantic night out or a gathering. Very close to transportation. Thank you " House" for an amazing dining experience!
Came here for Saturday brunch, it's very cozy and small which I liked. I got the french toast soaked in rum with a side order of their breakfast sausage, sweet and salty, I love that combination. It was the best! The outside had a nice crunch accompanied by a taste of corn meal and the inside was nice and soft. I normally don't enjoy sweet breakfasts but I can definitely have more of this one. The portion size was huge though! It would be perfect to share. I was only able to have half of the plate.
The House was the restaurant we decided to eat at after our wedding. There was a total of four in the party. Bottom line, this has been the absolute best restauant I have eaten at in NYC. I had the chicken. It was wonderful and the greens that came with the meal were wonderful! I also ordered the Brussel sprouts. Those were the best I have ever eaten. Each person at the table has something different. All were equally excellent. The service was wonderful as well. All four of the people in the party equally enjoyed the restaurant.

Wonderful! I would highly recommend The House for a romantic dinner or Sunday brunch. The food was amazing try the rum & vanilla soaked French toast.
AMAZING JEWEL. The quaint upscale restaurant is a treasure find. From the service to the ambiance to the food i give this restaurant 100%. Highly recommend the duck made three ways and the yellow fin tuna - - wow - - and don't leave the premises without having the mouse. We will be returning here often!
Cute. I decided to go to The House on a friend's recommendation. They had just switched to the spring menu which, I must say, was quite disappointing. Most of the menu items were casual sandwiches (sliders, crab, etc.). The duck trio appetizer was amazing, the sommelier was very helpful in recommending an unknown wine. I can't even remember the dessert, so we must have skipped it or it wasn't memorable.
I would go back in the summer to see the new menu.

The House is THE Place. In a city overrun with amazing restaurants you either have to be REALLY great or you need a gimmick to stand out. The House is in that REALLY great category. The place is small and very romantic. Tucked in Gramercy, it's is architecturally inviting and very intimate. The food is exquisitely prepared and the staff is very knowledgeable and attentive.
I was lucky enough to meet friends at The House for New Year's Eve. We were a rather large party and, to be honest, I didn't have particularly high expectations, even noting the caliber of the place. I find usually when the party size grows, the quality of the dining experience suffers as restaurants tend to not be able to handle serving hot dishes to large groups and yet make everybody happy. Our experience at The House was flawless and absolutely delicious.
I had a Tuna Tartare which was wickedly tasty and Poached Lobster which was out of this world. Amazing wine selection and full bar are available. Highly Recommended.
Good food, great service. Went there with a couple of business partners and had a very good meal, accompanied by delicious wines from all over the world. Impeccable service, our waiter did not rush us and was helpful without being too pushy. Next time, I plan on taking my wife there for a nice night out away from the kids!
Charming place, great food & wine. A great place to try for a romantic dinner in the city. Their original wine selection, scrumptious entrees and impeccable service make this restaurant one of my favorite date spots. Recommended for couples or small dinner parties, the atmosphere on the second floor is very intimate and the general architecture of this place is just stunning.
The House is in an old colonial carriage house that has, for the past several years, been home to an upscale American restaurant. The House was on my list for a long while and I regret not having gone sooner. It's one of the best restaurants I've eaten in this year. Inside, it's dark and chill and almost speakeasy-like. So already I like it. It's not fancy, but it's better than casual.
LOVE this restaurant! The decor and ambiance is super super cute and spring-like, the food is excellent (we LOVED the truffle Mac and cheese and the chocolate dessert), and the service was excellent! We also had the burrata, deviled eggs tasting and the frittata, which were all quite delicious. We tried the lavender basil drink and it was really refreshing. All in all, a great brunch experience (bit pricy) and would highly recommend!
What a nice choice. Literally a House turn into a cozy restaurant with an intimacy & & slight romance. Was not crazy about the tacky Christmas decorations, but again a lot of houses has them. The service was good, friendly staff & very attentive. The space felt really tight but not intolerable. Food was really good. We all enjoyed our meals. Definitely give it a try.
I like the establishment, which is a renovated vintage carriage house. Devil egg tasting is an interesting appetizer with different toppings: caviar, bacon, lobster and jalapeño. My favorites are caviar and jalapeño ones. Charred octopus is a little bit over cooked and kinda of dry. The sea scallops are seared very well. It comes with sweet corn, hazelnuts and sherry, which add some sweetness to the savory. Service is great. Even though the space is very nice and I had to squeeze into a high table, I did enjoy the vibe there.
My girlfriend and I came here for my Birthday, on a rainy and cold December night. Staff was friendly, and they allowed to have our time for talking and checking menu without rushing us. Nice wine selection (nothing overwhelming like other spots). Food was great, we were satisfied, and no need for dessert. Get the NY Strip, it comes with an amazing herb dressing! The Lasagna was very big, and definitely worth it.
We sat on the second floor, and the vibe is cozy and low key, perfect for a date night, or for a nice dinner out in the town.
The food here is very good. The deviled eggs are uniquely prepared and presented, delicious and well worth ordering as a starter. The highlight was definitely dessert in the apple gallette with cinnamon ice cream. The service was friendly and courteous, but with a large group downstairs a little slower at the beginning than I would like from such a place. The ambience is more lively than the old brick exterior might make you think. Worth checking out for sure.
Alfredo and the Chef greeted me on Saturday afternoon, offered me a tour of the charming two-story restaurant. I sat at the beautiful marble bar, and had the lobster club sandwich, which was fresh and delicious. A glass of sparkling wine was the perfect accompanying beverage. The service was attentive and friendly.
Oh this place is so special! My husband and I went on our first date after our wedding here, and it was the perfectt experience. The ambiance, service, food, and drinks were equally spectacular and we'll absolutely be back.
Very cozy space with an excellent selection of French accented New American dishes. Service is very attentive and professional. Wine list is extensive and covers the major wine producing countries. An overall great, intimate experience.

This place is a great cute date night. It’s got a neat history as aspect but also great cocktails as well as food. Additionally the staff and bartender were very lovey.
