I love this place. I was introduced to it during food tour of the village and try to return here whenever I can. I love the concept of pairing a cupcake with beer and wine and have never been disappointed with any of the pairings!
My husband and I both agreed these were the best cupcakes we ever had... highly recommend!
This place is the coolest place in the city. The food is amazing and well priced. They have a banana walnut bread that is literally to die for. The staff was awesome and I will definitely be coming back when every time I'm in the city. Great vibes and good times! Cheers!!
Heaven in a cupcake. Im in love with this little gem. PURE is the best vanilla cupcake on e planet I think it's due to the Mexican vanilla they use. Owner Marlo is a heinous she minglesnwithnguests and suggests pairings. F non drinker there are coffees and teas that don't leave you feeling like you're missing out. I hear there is a new breakfast menu, looks amazing. It is always on my list of place to go when I'm in NYC.
The egg sandwich was good. Service was fast and friendly. I wonder if ink has sacrificed Sweet Revenge's authenticity... fortunatley, there are plenty of I heart NY tee shirts touring around the West Villiage to keep this place going for a long time. Plus, the Mayan Chocolate cupcake was great!
Cupcakes n booze. I'm not a cupcake/cake/icing lover. With that said, I do love my chocolate with a great wine and Sweet Revenge delivered! I ordered the Dirty and red wine combo. All I ate was the chocolate ganache, and I was happy.
What I think is noteworthy was that I was with a small group and Marlo Scott, the owner, took time to talk with us about our opinions, how she comes up with pairings with her teams, her initial struggles and current success. Her love and enthusiasm for her work comes through and was
infectious even on a late Saturday night.
If I were a local, I'd be a regular, and I don't really even like sweets all that much! I was surprised by the incredible savory dishes offered in addition to the famous cupcakes and wine/beer pairings. It would be a great place for a late breakfast or lunch. Impressive pairings and wine selection. The tart lemon/vanilla with Moscato Spumante was excellent. I was also tempted by the Fleur du Sal- with caramel and pecans! I must return. The owner is a doll and it's no wonder she's the new face of Chase small business banking. Very comfortable environment and a super- efficient staff. Can't wait to go back to NYC and visit again.
For all things good in this world.. Beer? Wine? Cupcakes? Yes. There's an entire menu filled with beer/wine cupcake parings. I went with the peanut butter and malbec paring. Are you in the west village? Looking for something sweet? Skip Magnolia's ... it's overrated anyways and head to Sweet Revenge. You can thank me later.
Cupcakes!. The crimson and cream cupcake is so amazing. The wine pairing idea is super cute, but can get pricey for a non-New Yorker who just wants a cupcake and some wine :)
Great cupcake, cute place! The best part is that you can pair cupcakes with wine or beer. Go during happy hour and get a cupcake and a glass of wine or beer for $10!
The cupcakes are delicious! That's all I've tried there. The atmosphere is really nice and relaxed. The owner is a very nice woman who can chat about anything at all and is very environment-friendly. Every time we go there, there are locals buying desert for the party or to surprise their guests. It seems like everyone can't resist to come back for that sweet revenge! :)
Therefore, this place definitely has more of a unique experience than other places. By the way, the owner is very nice and the service is excellent, which makes your experience there soo much better!
