I've had sushi at various places in NYC and Los Angeles. I've had sushi in Osaka and Kyoto. The rolls I had at Kanoyama were better than most any sushi I have ever had. The fish is so incredibly fresh and light. Be prepared to pay premium prices, even for NYC, but the food was SO good. The service was friendly and efficient.
We came in on a weekday night for the regular menu. The price is reasonable and the portion is appropriate for what we paid for. I recommend sushi for 2 and Amaebi (sweet shrimp). Other things are just so so. It’s nothing too fancy to attract me here again.
Service and atmosphere was impeccable. Had the omakase, and it was excellent overall. I wish they could have swapped certain pieces (I don’t like uni or sea scallop), but otherwise great.
This is the second time I visited here. All the food were really fresh and well presented. It showed a lot of care from the restaurant to really care about the customers!
Great restaurant, the staff are friendly, helpful and accommodating. The food portions are perfect for that full bite. We left satisfied with our order and will be visiting again in the future.
Great food, wide selection, can be slightly pricey. The outdoor seating was excellent. We had 5 kids with us. They were able to seat us at a table with a bench. Very helpful staff and considerate of allergies.

Love sitting at the counter to see the wonderful creations being made. Each of the sushi chefs had their own style and worked very well together. The same goes for the service staff. Very well done and a great place for sushi.
My first time here and I arrived just before it was packed tight. Had a great view of everything being prepared and then wisked off to the eagerly waiting patrons.
Kept it simple since it was my first time there. Ordered edamame, sizzling baby octopus 🐙 , and a dragon 🐉 roll. Everything was fresh, served quickly and #DELICIOUS!!

I absolutely love this place. And want to recommend to more people. Their omakase is a hidden gem. Chef was so nice and welcoming. Every piece is delicious and fresh. The price is very reasonable not overpriced. I will definitely come back again.
One of the best Japanese cuisine I’ve ever had! Every single thing we ate was 10/10. You can tell that the food was made thoughtfully with the most fresh ingredients and it tasted amazing throughout the entire dinner.
