Nice Dining Experience but $$. The wine steward functioned something like a 'happiness' steward, making sure my entire evening was pleasant. He recommended a wonderful bottle of wine and checked on me all evening long to chat about wines and food. I was stuck in the city and thought why not have one last meal. The ordinary waiter could not have been less interested, though. And I spent A LOT of money for dinner. The apps and salad were very good, but the lamb chops were fairly ordinary fare at the fine-dining level. Were I a millionaire, I would go back.
Loved It. Had dinner tonight at 7:30. Prompt accomodating service, welcoming atmosphere. Great specials, relaxed dining, fantastic but not omnipresent service. Highly recommend. Wonderful dinner.
Love that they had sole and it was fairly priced. The blue Crab Appetizer was delicious, as was the eggplant parm and my friend had the lamb chops leaving nothing behind.😋 oh and the pasta appetizer we had with truffles was soooo delicious. We ate a lot and left nothing behind.

Top 3 dinner restaurants anywhere. Service was impeccable and the food was divine. This place lives up to its reputation. Get reservations well in advance… tables are limited. The truffle pasta is a must-order dish. Everything on the menu is 🤌🏽
Wow, best restaurant! That simple. Do you want to impress someone with a great restaurant experience? This is the place! The food was so delicious! The staff knows the meaning of "customer service" and they are glad to show it. My wife and I still talk about this place from our NYC trip. Just go, you will be very glad you did. My wife and I stopped in for drink, sat at the small bar and were treated like royalty. Let me tell you, great service. We had already ate dinner, but regretted not finding the place earlier or we eoild have eaten here. The bartender was attentive, informative but not overbearing. We had to leave after a few drinks because we had reservations for dessert somewhere else but immediately came back to end our night. The waiters were so friendly and gave us their options on certain liquors and drinks that they enjoy. We will be back for sure.
5 stars toward the food 👍fresh, delicious, the aroma of the dishes feels like a old Italian lady singing & cooking for her guests, trying to get the best ingredients and prepares the meal with love.

If you know you know. Best institution of the UES. Cannot go wrong with the pastas - their constant endless list of specials. Love the staff - great old school high quality spot.
Best restaurant I have ever eaten at. Best service of any restaurant I have ever eaten at. Gianni is an unbelievable server, so is Peter and the rest of the servers at Scalinatella. Their food is unbelievably good. Everything I have ordered here is top notch. They will make you anything you want if it’s not on the menu. I have requested several items off the menu, and all of them have come out spectacular. This is the best Italian food in Manhattan, or the United States for that matter.
Had a great experience here. Attentive service, delicious food, everything was perfect. Yes, it is small and busy. We didn't even look at the menu. We spoke with our waiter, talked about what we liked and the food started coming out. Would highly recommend early reservation around 630p. Enjoy.
Down a small staircase sits the best Italian restaurant you will find outside ot Italy. The service is impeccable! Thanks to "Eddy" for an exceptional experience.
