Just finished one of the best meals my wife and I have had for the last 14 years we've been in NY. How did we not find this gem of a place until now is what boggles me. Anyways, Talking about the overall meal and the par excellence service, it reminds me of how an Awadhi meal in it's full glory should be. Thank you Awadh for bringing such joy us me and a lot of foodies like us. Wish there were a lot more stars I could give but sadly there are only 5 stars ! That Awadhi Tikka and Biryani Tho- On point!!!! We'll be back very soon with the entire family as no one should be devoid of a culinary experience you have to offer!

Always love my Awadh experience. This is now a regular spot for me and my sister on a Friday night after work. The staff is wonderful and always go the extra mile for us. Samson is my go to bartender after a long week, and Raju is a thoughtful and friendly waiter. The hostess (I really have to get her name!) is always courteous. My favorite foods are easily the Uri Jheenga (coconut shrimp curry which is mild for those who prefer to tone down the spice) with potato kulcha or the chicken briyani (altho my sister would opt for the lamb biryani) which is a little spicer but very tasty. The cappuccino is perfectly layered and always piping hot. And from the bar? My all time favorite drink is the Newab (a tamarind margarita altho I often swap tequila for whisky and it's AMAZING!!!).
The best galouti kebab in NY❤️ also the awadh dum biryani is a must try👍🏻

this is not your Indian hot plate buffet, but a fine dining Indian restaurant. Few of the flavors were of the type that I associate with teh generic Indian food in many spots. We had lentil cakes and lamb patties as appetizers, and neither was from the expected spectrum of tastes. The lamb was subtle and mild, and the lentils (with spinach) were less flavored from the carbs and more from the melding of the two main ingredients. The main courses were shrimp curry, chicken with cashew sauce and whole baby eggplants in a tomato/onion sauce. The eggplants were silky and steeped in the flavor from the sauce, which had been allowed to carmelize so that it was rich and the ingredients flowed together beautifully. I'm not a cashew fan, but the sauce again brought flavors other than the "star" ingredient. The shrimp curry was perhaps the most "standard" dish, but the shrimp were huge adn perfectly cooks and the curry was not overwhelming, but subtle and in your mouth you could taste several things going on at once. We were all very impressed and will be coming back.
I have been to this place couple of weeks back for lunch. We ordered Chicken Kebab, Saag Paneer, Chicken Biriyani and Ice Cream. I must say all the foods were tasty and flavorful. Kebabs were awesome just melted in mouth. Biryani is their special dish and is really good. Biryani is not same as other place.They serve Lucknow Biryani and not as spicy as Hydrabadi. Saag Paneer was very tasty and fresh.
At last we ordered Ice Cream, there were 3 different flavours. Coconut and Mango Ice cream is just awesome. A must try Indian Restaurant at NYC.
Well worth a visit. Lovely service, calm setting (i hope for the sake of the other diners that our daughter didn't disrupt their calm too much), and top-quality food. fresh ingredients, well-prepared (the spinach gravy on my lamb was wonderful, and even the pappardam were a cut above). we will go back -- a great addition to the neighborhood!

This place has the one of the best lamb chops in NYC period. The place in general is OK. We ordered following things:
The Nawab: Great Tamarind Flavor. Rating 4/5
Galouti Kebab: Very juicy and lamb was very fresh. It could have had some more spices but overall is was good. Rating 4/5
Shikampuri Seekh: Again chicken was very fresh and well marinated. Kebab was very juicy. Again some more spices and salt in kebab will just enhance the experience. Rating 4/5
Chaap ka Barrah: Best lamb chops in NYC. So juicy and full of flavor. Rating 5/5
Lagan ki Raan: Portion size was good and flavors were great too. The quality of meat they use is really good. Somehow I felt that salt was less in this dish. Rating 4/5
Khaas Korma: Great chicken dish if you looking for something with mild flavor. Chicken was very well cooked and was very juicy. Rating 4/5
Green Chutney: Most different green chutney I had in my whole life. It had very raw flavor of mint but nothing to compliment it with. There is seriously something missing in it. To make it even worse they add something sweet to it. Rating 1/5.
Overall the place has great potential and I would definitely give it another try.
I am amazed at how unassuming the location is and how unbelievable the food itself is. This is some of the best Indian food you may ever eat.
I had their paneer tikka masala, vegetable biryani, and garlic naan. Each was easily the best I’ve ever had at a restaurant.
The paneer was perfectly cooked, with the sauce unbelievably smooth as if it was strained for perfect consistency. The flavors were bright, vibrant, and delicious.
The garlic naan was fantastic. I always like a ton of garlic, and the garlic they put made it taste like the perfect naan.
The vegetable biryani was the best part. It is cooked in a clay vessel with a naan/roti, covering the lid to seal all the flavor in as it is cooked. I was stunned at how aromatic, fluffy, and delicious this was.
The restaurant also provided some raita (yogurt) and papadum (crispy snack) as well.
Honestly, you are missing out if you do not come here and try this restaurant.
Price is reasonable for New York ($15 per dish).
This place is a great choice for authentic Indian food. Ambiance and service on point!
Quality and taste of food was excellent for the most part. Among the various dishes we ordered, kofta was a slight disappointment coz of the overwhelming flavor in the gravy and lack of the same in the actual kofta. Desserts were really good. Drink, appetizer, main course and dessert ( all sharing) will cost you an average of $50 per person.
Awadh is our go to for Indian food in the neighborhood. They recently painted the restaurant blue to match the outdoor seating area, which is a nice change and makes the restaurant really stand out when walking by. The food was delicious and the service was good.
Loved the sweet potato-pineapple grilled appetizer. Service is great and a pretty well done interior and ambience.
On the pricey side, but we loved their dal makhani, paneer tikka and veg biriyani as well.
Excellent kebabs, especially the chicken: juicy, tender, charred just right and full of flavor. The Nawabi Murgh Tikka and Awadh Murgh Tikka kebabs were beautiful. We thought the Kakori lamb kebab wasn’t as good, but the spicing was very nice. Chicken biryani was pretty good too. Three kebab orders alone would be enough for a meal for two—they’re pretty substantial.
This Indian restaurant is quite different from all others. Nice and cozy ambience, well trained staffs, yummy delicious food. I really liked there serving style, presentation and taste of dishes served. Chicken biryani and kulfi is a must try.
Super cozy, amazing food, beautiful decor, and good service. Order the garlic naan, the veggie samosas (some of the best I’ve ever had!), and the coconut chicken dish. The coconut shrimp curry is also incredible! Everything was delicious. It fills up (downstairs and upstairs) at dinner time so make a reservation if you’re going at a busy time. Good date spot! Feels fancy without being wayyy overly priced. Far better than your average Indian spot. Much more authentic and creative dishes.

Great Galauti kebabs which I am always on the lookout for. The Shikamporee Shikh was good if not perfect. Some good mutton dishes as well but the Rann was not as good as the Dahi Gosht. The kaali dal was the crowned offering for sure and you must order it with the perfectly turned out naan. The missing star is for the not so warm welcome we got when we entered although we had reservations. The service improved vastly over the course of the evening
