Visited August 1997. Had the time of my life. Enjoy the well deserved retirement Rupert!!!

Rupert and Mae. Are fantastic people I wish they were still there.. it was a slice of broadcast history.
They are seriously the nicest people. The food was great too. The prices were almost baffling to me... they could charge way more than they do for what they serve and the reputation they have from the Letterman stuff. But my girlfriend and I had a really nice lunch for $25, including two sandwiches, a bag of chips, and two sodas. I wish I'd been in town long enough to try their breakfast sandwiches, which by the way appeared to be like two bucks each?
FANTASTIC egg and cheese sandwiches. It's in the details—the rolls they use are crisp yet soft—and they toast them on the griddle by default. The super friendly staff always asks if you want salt, pepper, ketchup instead of leaving you to disassemble the sandwich to put them on yourself later (as too many delis do). And, for a place in the heart of a tourist area, it's super reasonable. Has become a morning routine for me. A++++ Would buy again!
Delicious sandwich and nice people! Was so lovely talking to May, hopefully will be back soon.
Above all, they are super friendly! The food is great too and comes out fast.
Had a great breakfast and a nice chat with Rupert. Very tasty egg, bacon and cheese sandwich!!! Enjoy watching NYC walk by the deli window!!
They offer really delicious sandwiches. The lady is very nice and the prices are reasonable.
Great selection, sandwiches made fresh in a few minutes. There are a few seats inside but mostly take out. I had the schaffer and my husband the colbert. Fun names for the sanwhiches and veggie options too.
Just incredible! Super friendly service, place is packed with personality! I had the Letterman sandwich. Never thought a cold sandwich could be so good. And the price was just amazing.
