Had hazelnut flavoured milk chocolate and pistachio flavoured dark chocolate here. Also had a hot chocolate here. The taste of the chocolate matches with the advertised one of the ten spots for best chocolates in the world.
We were looking for a dessert and checked on google to see what was around when we stumbled upon Jacques Torres on the Upper West Side. Jacques Torres is not unknown to me as I tried his chocolate many times and even went to his chocolate factory downtown many years ago, but I do not recall having tried his hot chocolate. So, it was time to change that and that was like a revelation: his hot chocolate is the best in the city! People rave about City Bakery's hot chocolate, but I admit that I do not like it. This one, at Jacques Torres is something else: it is like melted chocolate, but without being too sweet or too bitter; yes, it is a perfect balance that makes me want to have such a place next door.

Jacques Torres is known as Mr. Chocolate and has earned that title over the years. His shop on the Upper West Side is really adorable and inside you will find some of the BEST chocolate in the world!! In the warmer months, he even has homemade ice cream to all visitors delight!! You can also find here chocolate covered cheerios and corn flakes. Yes, you read this correctly. Yes, they are pretty amazing and would make great gifts to bring back home. He even ships them to you from his website. Happy Day!! The inside decor is really lovely, very elegant. The chocolate deserves to be in such a setting. How can you choose just one item here? Pretty hard, which is why you need to come back more than once. His cookies are out-of-this-world. You can purchase his chocolate to add to your own cookie recipe and make it sublime.
One of my favorite thing to do around Manhattan is to check cafes and chocolatiers for a delicious hot chocolate. This place truly and honestly make the best. I tried their classic hot chocolate and it was perfect! They use 60% chocolate which makes their hot chocolate very tasty. Not too sweet and not too thick either. I was amazed! Service was very quick.They only had 2 small tables so don’t count on being able to sit down to enjoy your drinks. Other than that, this place has a lot to offer to its customer. It is accessible to subway and other public transportation. Definitely a place to patronize. ❤️
Delicious chocolates but one of my chocolates got squeezed in because of their packaging, it happened 2 times.
But the chocolates are absolutely delicious and oh so beautiful ❤️.
A few months ago, a colleague of mine brought to work the biggest chocolate turkey, I’d ever seen. This turkey was awe inspiring made up of both milk and dark chocolate that was so delicious that I asked where this bird was created. Jacques Torres was the creator and I immediately began a fan and a customer. While he has a few stores in New York City, they have a phenomenal website and I was astonished that the Valentine Heart arrived the day after I ordered it! I love great tasting chocolate and now that I’ve discovered Jacques Torres, I’m now a devoted fan and follower!
nice shop but not as special feeling/ cute as some of the other chocolate shops around the city, but a large selection of truffle flavors. In addition to truffles, also got a chocolate chip cookie. We Haven’t tried the truffles yet, but the cookie was pretty good but not super standout. The texture was good, you could taste the brown sugar and there was lots of chocolate without there being too much.
I have been to this location twice. Both times there has been one woman absolutely killing it with the customer service. She's as quick and as efficient as she can be as one person against a rush of customers. She's nice, but not afraid to tell customers who are being indecisive to step aside for folks who already know what they want. Sure. The chocolate is amazing. The hot chocolate is to die for. The cookies--fantastic. But this woman, this wonderful woman, is why I will continue to come back a thousand times over. Because she is excellent and wonderful. Jacques. Give her a raise and a vacation. She deserves it. (But actually she was working on 12/29 at 1:30pm..I didn't catch her name. Please give her a raise.)

It was my first time going in to this specific store. I came in to the store a couple days ago to pick up some chocolate for a friend. There was one employee (Vanessa) & another man in the store. Vanessa was so sweet, extremely professional & helpful. She helped me pick out the exact chocolate I was looking for and went out of her way to make it look nice as it was a gift. As I was at the register ready to pay, the man that was in the store took that as his cue to walk out with two huge bags of chocolate. Vanessa while remaining very calm & professional excused herself & bravely went after the man to get the chocolate bags back. She came back with the bags & finished helping me at the register while remaining very professional, calm & positive. It was so impressive! She was so quick to respond, while remaining calm & collected. Did I mention she was the only one working in the store at the time? That woman deserves a raise ASAP! Oh & the chocolate was delicious, I got the pistachio dark chocolate for my friend & the chocolate covered almonds for myself. I will definitely be back! The customer service is outstanding.

The New York chocolate shop? Is it too much of a stretch to call it that? It's amazing. I usually get my chocolate gifts here and it's a hit. Most of their chocolates are rich, tasty, with nice, interesting flavor combinations. Their champagne truffles have a nice little taste of alcohol and are smooth and soft. And, of course, you cannot neglect their cookies. Their chocolate chip cookie is to die for. It's literally one of the best cookies in NYC. The chocolate is rich beyond rich, high quality, melt in your mouth. Their cookie base has an amazing browned butter richness and a nice crunch... if you didn't choose to get it heated to have it resemble freshly baked cookies.
They do offer to reheat for you. Just grab a plate, a fork or spoon, and dig in. It's amazing.
Their staff is friendly, their hot chocolates are yummy, and they have a lovely assortment of ganaches. There is scattered seating inside. Their vanilla ice cream sandwich is phenomenal: no ice cream stuffed inside to chocolate chip cookies that are incredibly soft and have a lovely molasses flavor. Their double chocolate chip trademark cookie has a little too much chocolate for my taste, but I can see how people like it. Prices are typical for a fine chocolate shop. If you like chocolate, this place is certainly worth a visit.

What's not to love about a gourmet chocolate shop? Especially when said shop offers daily happy hours on frozen hot chocolate, and ice cream specials. In fact, if you're a real chocolate fanatic, you must absolutely try the chocolate ice cream. It is TO DIE FOR ! When I first sampled it, I almost fell right on my behind in amazement. It tastes like a beautiful chocolate truffle, in ice cream form. It's decadent, rich, silky, and everything else in between. Skip all of the other ice cream shops in the area and just come here. You will not regret it.
