Almanac is fantastic! My friend treated me to on my birthday. We indulged in their 8 course tasting menu. Well worth the price tag. You can taste the freshness in each perfectly executed dish. Do not pass up the duck, it was amazing! The service was spot on from the hostess to the bus boy. I'm surprised Almanac doesn't have a Michelin Star yet. The atmosphere is casual, yet refined. It's very cozy. I recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great experience. I will definitely be back soon.

I've been to Almanac twice now, and have been supremely impressed by how amazing everything is. From the beautiful, cozy atmosphere, to the amazing service, to the food that is on par with the best in the city. It's all farm-to-table so the menu apparently changes rapidly based on what's available. There were quite a few things that were different between the two times I visited, which I loved because I got to try almost a whole new menu. Even the cocktail menu is seasonal! I've had the 5 course and 8 course tasting menus, and the wine pairings for each. The duck and lamb dishes I had were out of this world, and the wines were paired perfectly. The guy pouring our wine pairings was incredibly knowledgable, and gave us a little info on why they picked a certain wine for the given dish. Plus, there's even a wine pairing for the cheese and dessert courses, which I found to be a huge bonus! I would recommend this restaurant especially if you're on a date and looking to impress, or if you were celebrating a special occasion. I'll be back, and will be telling everyone i know about this restaurant!

When I lived in New York, my favorite restaurant was mas(farmhouse). I had already left NY by the time Almanac opened, and it's been on the top of my list ever since. Now that I've had a chance to go I already can't wait to go back. The wine list is incredible, and the food is just perfect . Every item on every plate is integral to the dish. The flavors are spot on and the menu did not feel heavy, as a lot of tasting menus do. Bravo!

My husband and I had a great time at Almanac. We attribute the evening's success to a combination of great food, service and ambiance. The restaurant is very warm and artistic, the server and staff super attentive, and the food just hit the right point every time. We loved all of our dishes, but the acorn squash in the acorn salad was just perfectly grilled, tender and seasoned.

Everything about Almanac is superb. The food is as beautiful as it is delicious. The setting is warm and the service is top notch. We ordered the five course tasting menu, with which we enjoyed expertly paired with wine. We recommend the five course menu as the way to dine at Almanac; however, there are three and eight course options as well, or you could order Al a carte. No matter the number of courses, be prepared for every course to bring wonderful combinations of flavors and textures. Dining at Almanac is an experience not to be missed. Go hungry, leave happy.

Almanac was fantastic. The oysters were amazing, the best I've ever had. Also, I loved the beef short rib which was braised and grilled to perfection. The wines were fantastic as well, a white from the Jura, a lesser known region in France and a red from Piedmont with some great age on it from 2005. Will definitely return!

Food, decor, and service all deserve 5 stars! It was truly a pleasant experience :) The waitress was very amiable and knowledgable - she answered any questions about the menu items, particularly allergy related questions since my wife is highly allergic to shellfish and nuts. I can honestly say that my wife and I left our plates completely clean - the food was outstanding! Everything was so delicious but we both agree that our favorite dishes were the Wagyu as an appetizer and for the main course the roast lamb. Would highly recommend this place!

When my wife and I walked to the front of 28 Seventh Avenue South we were blown away by the huge windows that opened on to an equally stunning interior. The food certainly didn't disappoint. We got into a loving family discussion about which dish we loved the most. The jury is still out on that as we were never able to come to a general consensus on the winner. Needless to say my wife and I give this restaurant our highest recommendation.

A friend and I recently had the most amazing meal at Almanac (Galen Zamarra's Mas (la grillade) redux). We ordered the five course tasting menu and to our delight the sever let us know we could trade out different apps and entrees from the rest of the menu. So accommodating especially for my vegan bestie (they were even able to offer her a plated dessert!). The wine pairings were spot on! Sarah Sutel Looper, the wine director for both Almanac and Mas (farmhouse), has crafted such a wonderful wine list. It has affordable selections as well as bottles for when you feel like splurging, and she was on hand to walk us through it all. The highlights of the evening were the mushroom soup with roquefort foam, the duck which comes with the most amazing sausage glazed with rich and earthy dates, and the pepita financier- a take on pumpkin desserts that far out preforms pumpkin pie. We will certainly be returning soon- the menu changes daily to keep up with the ever changing “micro seasons”. Can’t wait to see what late winter has in store!

Had an amazing dinner and all over experience. This is arguably the best restaurant in Manhattan, myself and all my guests were delighted. Each plate was special in it's own way. My advice - order it all!!!
