Really great place. Staff are so nice and food is made quickly, but fresh.
The staff here are extremely friendly and helpful, prices are good (for NYC), food was served fast and delicious. Plenty of choices to be made with a larger menu, would come back and recommend. My only complaint is that the home potatoes are bit on the bland side, but add some ketchup and salt and flavor beholds!
New York City does not run on Dunkin, it runs on Diners, and the Palace is the palace of NYC diners.
My friend who took me here for the first time has been coming for 30 years! He walks in and everyone calls him by his name. Billy the waiter has been serving my friend the entire time and let me tell you they run a tight ship here.
I judge a diner by the cheeseburger deluxe (or a club sandwich). This is a staple that is made up of three major components. The burger, the toppings and the fries. Individually they are all spectacular here which is why they deserve this review.
Burger, juicy and just big enough that the bun holds it together but just barely. The tomato and lettuce are generous, ripe and fresh (crisp) and lastly the fries are salty and perfectly cooked with just a slight snap on the outside and fluffy on the inside.
If you are in the area this will become your new favorite spot and who knows, maybe you too will come for the next 30 years
Excellent spot for American diner food. Grabbed a late dinner while staying in the area and went back for breakfast. Service was quick and attentive, Sergio gave some great tips and recommendations. The pies are a fabulous late night treat but definitely shareable.
Food portions were large and food was exactly what you expected when ordering. Would recommend stopping in!
The food was delicious! All four of us had a great breakfast. Stayed at the Lombardy and it was recommended. We tried them and were pleased! The staff were friendly and the service fast. Will come back again when in NYC!
Nestled on the vibrant 122 E 57th St in New York City, the Palace Restaurant is a hidden gem offering a culinary experience that leaves a lasting impression. During my recent visit, I discovered a delightful combination of flavorful dishes, welcoming service, and a cozy atmosphere.
The star of the show at Palace Restaurant is undoubtedly their grilled sandwich. From the first bite, it was evident that the chefs prioritize quality ingredients and expert preparation. The sandwich was a perfect harmony of textures and tastes, showcasing a culinary finesse that set it apart from the ordinary.
Accompanying the sandwich were French fries smothered in brown gravy—a savory indulgence that elevated the dining experience. The combination of crispy fries and rich, flavorful gravy was a delightful surprise, adding a layer of comfort to the meal.
The attention to detail extended to the beverage selection, particularly the coffee. The coffee at Palace Restaurant is a true delight for caffeine enthusiasts. Rich, robust, and expertly brewed, it complemented the meal perfectly. It's clear that the establishment takes pride in offering a complete dining experience, down to the last sip.
Equally noteworthy is the staff's warmth and attentiveness. The friendly demeanor of the staff, coupled with the attentive service from my server, enhanced the overall dining experience. The courtesy and promptness displayed by the staff at Palace Restaurant contribute to the welcoming atmosphere that makes patrons feel right at home.
In conclusion, Palace Restaurant at 122 E 57th St is a must-visit for those seeking a culinary haven in the heart of New York City. Great dinner with that great vibe, this place is always very busy and has great service. Servers are always making sure your good the food is nice and fresh! Would definitely recommend you visit. If your in Midtown.
Classic New York diner. Went for the gluten free options as my wife is Celiac. Full gluten free menu. Gotta love being able to get French toast and waffle and she can eat it all. Up to standard of any diner I’ve ever been to. Will 100% be back. Would be a regular if I lived closer. Can’t wait to go back.
We ducked in for a late lunch and coffee and found a bit of the old New York City. I had one of the very best pastrami sandwiches and my buddy had a coffee. We got to chat for a long time and be left alone. Tab came to $20 and il left a standard 15% tip.
I plan to go back and tell others about it.
One of the best Gluten free breakfast we had in NY. They got a whole separate Menu for GF from sweet (french toast, pancakes) to savory.
Service was fast and atttendive and the ambiente was a classic American Diner.
