When the food is exotic (probably one of the best in the world, we have eaten so far) catering to a niche crowd, with a really cozy decor, a super friendly staff, and the Head Chef is your friend from Singapore......the world is indeed a better place � Rock on Chintan Pandya!! It was Super awesome to see you!!!! We’ll come back to Rahi soon ���

I'm a bit of a purist when it comes to Indian food, but the inventive Indian fusion dishes at this place are superb. I had the Tulsi Chicken and garlic Naan for a light meal. Highly recommended.

4/5 stars. Good service and good food and drinks but some what over priced. The options are shareable and that’s what we did and had leftovers but I think there are better Indians restaurants out there for sure. Would definitely visit and try the remaining menu. We had the Prawns, Cauliflower, lamb chops for apps and the chicken, biryani and fish curry for mains. 3 folks split the dishes and had enough for left over so in a sense value for money is there on the portions.

Great modern / non-traditional Indian restaurant. You won't find a typical menu 5 pages long with 10 different variations of chicken, lamb, goat, veggies and breads at Rahi. They have created a slim menu of popular dishes with a flair. Some dishes have unique pairings of flavors as well. All around the food was fantastic and each dish was delicious! The restaurant itself has a nice vibe as well, especially if you can sit indoors. Caution: spice levels here are a bit all over the place. I would strongly discourage anyone from trying the cauliflower appetizer if they can't tolerate extreme spice (and this goes well beyond brown people spice levels). I don't know what the point of it is, the dish is presented very well (see pic) but nearly inedible.

Went on a double date here with friends for dinner and had a great time! This restaurant has been on my list of go-tos for a while, so I was excited to finally eat here. Overall, the food is delicious, and staff is very friendly. We sat indoors and although a bit noisy, the ambience is really warm and welcoming. Pros: - Delicious food - Lovely interior and ambiance - Indoor and outdoor dining available Cons: - Indoor dining was a bit loud - Limited menu - Portion sizes vary - there are some dishes that are pretty large and others that are on the smaller side for the price you’re paying Regarding food/drinks: We started by ordering a few beers and the mango lassi, the chili cheese toast and chicken tikka. For entrees, we got the pumpkin coconut curry, banana leaf chicken, prawn moile, and goat biryani. (Note that the menu is not super expansive and it is pretty limited so I would recommend taking a look before coming here.) Everything tasted amazing and had wonderful flavors, and we were pretty happy with what we ordered. The portion sizes did vary a bit - we found that all of the dishes were around the same size except for the biryani which was HUGE! Unfortunately for my friend, he did not find the biryani spicy at all which was surprising. Would recommend stopping by if you’re looking for a new place to try!

Visited on a whim, stayed because the food is just really, really good. Coconut Mango Curry Cod ($28) was an absolute pleasure. My dining partner and I fought over the last bits of juices long after the fish was consumed. Pork Belly Cranbrry appetizer ($17). Feel free to order this as a main if so inclined. Portion was perfect, flavor was sweet, meat tender enough for the side of your fork to devour. Only tip: let the crunch top thing soak in the juices for a bit before eating with the belly. When it gets a little softer the texture works better with the fat of the pork. Cocktails ($15) we're tasty, definitely get one. You're in an area with gobs of great bars though, so don't feel obligated to load up on too many drinks unless you are staying for a long time. With that said, the space is clean, cheerful, and inviting unlike most other hip Indian restaurants blasting club music. You can stay here and walk out equally cheerful. Adding to the stars, every employee we interacted with was a delight.

This place is extremely pricey. We ordered two dishes both consisting of goat. The rice mixture contained very little goat and cost over $30+. The other dish contained substantial amounts of goat. The dishes do not come with sides of rice or bread. We ordered two drinks which were very tasty. The establishment conducts contact tracing and temperature checks for patrons entering the establishment. We ate inside the establishment since the outdoor dining was not available. We recommend heading to the Gramercy section of Manhattan for some authentic Indian food and a lighter hit on the wallet too.

Loved. Every. Second. Seriously. Other than the caramel from the ice cream being too much for my fragile teeth to handle, this place rocked my socks. Amuse-buche was a welcome surprise. We also ordered prawns and they were so good that we formed our the insides of their heads and crunched on the shrimp whiskers before realizing we hadn’t taken pictures. The goat curry was reliably fun and funky, and the tofu/cheese dish covered in papadom was great. It was hearty without being heavy, fulfilling in a spiritually balanced way. I intend to return but am also looking forward to eating out at Adda.

Kicking off summer #NYCRestaurantWeek at @rahinyc. We were just here earlier this year for the winter edition of restaurant week, and were thoroughly impressed with the food. This visit brought us more delightful discoveries - each dish was impeccably prepared and spice flavors thoughtfully assembled. I particularly liked all the dishes that I didn't choose as part of the pre fixe menu: the artichoke chaat and mango cod; these looked deceptively simple on paper, but bursting with flavor on the plate. I almost want to come back again within the next couple of weeks to make up for my choices this time. We ordered the octopus that was off-restaurant week menu (which we loved from our last visit), and are patiently waiting for the phenomenal soft shell crab dish to return in the winter.

as the critic reviews say, you''ll encounter unexpected flavors, and you'll be delighted by surprises. some of the presentations are a gimmick, but who cares? the food is great, the service is super-attentive, and the drinks are inventive. i didn't realize that you can do crispy naans. of course, the next day you'll still feel bloated as with most indian food, but at least here, it is worth it.

Stars are less. This place is worth a million stars. The best Indian food I have had in the USA. Everything was just so perfect. Only if I could eat everything that they have on the menu. The Ambience is soothing. Must go if you in NYC.

So i came to celebrate my boyfriend birthday and made the reservation on Open table. and to be honest, everything is perfect , taste perfect look perfect, my favorite is the cheese cream Naan and the Octopus leg plus the dessert. I love the Cocktails, it all taste so different but all to the point. It remind me of India, and for me as an non Indian, i think the food i did order were more taste like North Indian food. However its authentic and perfect. The only thing confuse me is i send message to the owner(which was indicated in the reservation page of Open table) i want the cake to have “happy birthday “ on the plate. However, later it was just a cake. Somewhat disappointed about it. But cant deny I love the food and environment. Will definitely return.
