Fresh, authentic and excellently prepared Italian food. The staff is attentive and knowledgeable of the menu and the sophisticated (and expensive) wine menu. One waiter will recite to the table a huge list of specials which is nice. Overall a lovely meal, good for special occasions
High class Italian establishment on the upper east side. Waiters impressively memorise the extensive specials menu. Eclectic arty decor. Staff seem friendly enough, but sensed that solo diners weren’t as welcomed as all the couples and foursomes.
What a gem! Amazing wine list and classic Italian cuisine with as many as 10 daily specials. Be sure to have www.Berta.it grappa with your dessert! Had dinner here 11/14/2023. 20 specials (not kidding), 464 page wine list, OMG.
The hospitality and service were top notch. The food was great, drinks tasty, nice place to stop before or after a day at The Met. Coat check is wonderful and wheelchair accessible. Homemade sausage was delicious.
Great experience, service and food were excellent. You can experience this place without breaking the bank by coming for only a main dish, and I would say it well worth it for ~$50. But the full experience (wine + appetizer + main dish) will take you back a bit over $100
Some of the best upscale italian. I have had the pleasure of trying. With a spectacular back bar and wine list. The service was also impeccable and the crazy amount of specials is amazing.
We absolutely LOVEd this restaurant - I'd found it reviewed on line as 5 stars and thought THIS will be a place e that outa be quite fine! Well - let me tell you - this place was great went back as as soon as was possible (the last full day of out trip to NYC) for Lunch and It was the same incredible experience. This will ever be one of our favorite meals of all time - Next trip to New York will absolutely include the Magnificent Caravaggio ,we can't wait to return. 5 Stars, A+, top shelf. Don't miss it!
The food was quite good :) the service was amazing. The interior was cute - love the walls. It has fancy tablecloth seating and the crowd was quite on the older side so not really a young person’s vibe, but was good nonetheless.
WONDERFUL!! Not sure if I like it quite as much as I do Sistina (by the same owner). Primarily because Caravaggio is under construction awnings so the outdoors is not as pleasant. Food and staff, however are great. We had the caprese salad with heirloom tomatoes, the sashimi, the fettuccine vongole (fab) and the vitello tonnato. And for dessert a refreshing rhubarb sundae. Very attentive staff.
The food is good overall, but I didn’t like the dish squid ink fettuccine with broccoli rabe. Somehow it was very bitter and not edible to me, although the waiter explained that’s how it was supposed to be. Being a big gourmand, I’m doubtful on that.
Highly recommend linguine a la vongole.
Our dining experience at Caravaggio was phenomenal. My mom and I popped by after an afternoon of shopping and were instantly transported to Italy. The service was wonderful - Dino was very professional, courteous and kind - and the food was superb! We will be returning again soon. Class all the way!
